Courteney Cox Reveals She Had to Sell Her House Because It Was Too Haunted

Courteney Cox just revealed the creepy reason why she moved out of her last house, and we can totally see why she packed up and left.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her new horror series Shining Vale, Cox was asked by Kimmel if she had ever encountered a ghost in real life. The Friends alum revealed that at her previous residence in Laurel Canyon, which had been owned by Carole King before her, was seriously haunted.

“I didn’t believe at first,” Cox said. “So Carole King came over to my house and she said that there had been a divorce that was really ugly, and there was a ghost in the house. And I was like, ‘Yeah, whatever.’”

However, Cox started to believe after guests in her house had strange experiences. “Other people who had stayed there with me—like, friends of mine—said they felt an encounter, a woman was sitting on the edge of the bed,” she said. And while Cox originally dismissed it, she even had a seance with King to try to rid the house of any apparitions.

The 57-year-old actress also recounted the instance that was that the nail in the coffin for her.

“I was at the house one day—not being a believer—and the doorbell rang,” she said. “It was a UPS guy or something, and I opened the door and he said, ‘Do you know this house is haunted?’ And I go, ‘Yeah, why? Why do you think that?’ And he goes, ‘Because there’s someone standing behind you.’ And I was like, ‘Let’s sell.’”

Cox then laughed and added, “I couldn’t sleep there alone ever again.”

Honestly, we can't say we blame her. We're glad you got out of there, Courteney!
