Beyoncé is a woman of few words. Typically shying away from traditional interviews (the September Vogue cover was an unprecedented exception), Queen Bey is #flawless—don’t get us wrong—but notoriously tight-lipped.
Her happy birthday wish to former first lady Michelle Obama is no exception. The Formation singer posted a throwback black-and-white photoon Instagram of Obama, who turned 55 today. Obama is in a giant white bow (gahhhh) and the words “Bow Down” are written in pink across it (punny!).
OMG, you guys, little Michelle is so stinkin’ cute. She looks to be about Blue Ivy’s age in the photo. Also, what does one do when Beyoncé (BEYONCÉ!!!!) posts a shout-out to you? (We know what we’d do, and it involves shouting from the nearest rooftop.)
While it certainly feels like more than just a sweet birthday tribute from one queen to another (Obama/Knowles-Carter 2020?!), it’s probably just that.
