Beyoncé and Jay-Z Wrote an Introduction to a Vegan Diet Book, and It's Actually Really Inspiring

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are inspiring in more ways than one, but they may actually help you stick to your New Year's resolutions this year (and not just because of Bey's rockin' bod—although, that, too).

The music power couple have long praised the merits of clean eating and plant-based diets. Now, they're featured in an upcoming book on the subject. By the Carters' trainer, Max Borges, The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World features a foreward by Bey and Jay.

The book, which was just released on Dec. 31, 2018, is available on Amazon ($19). Lucky for us, though, the intro from the Carters is available in full here via Amazon's sneak peek feature.

In it, Beyoncé and Jay-Z detail their journey with adopting a plant-based lifestyle, which began in 2013 when they tried out Borges' 22-day challenge—22 days of eating vegan.

“Having children has changed our lives more than anything else,” they write in the foreward. “We used to think of health as a diet – some worked for us, some didn’t. Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible.”

The couple, who share three kids, Blue Ivy, 6, and twins Rumi and Sir, 18 months, also ask readers to make these choices not just for themselves, but for the world.

“We all have a responsibility to stand up for our health and the health of the planet. Let’s take this stand together. Let’s spread the truth. Let’s make this mission a movement. Let’s become 'the Greenprint,'" the two conclude in their intro.

So, yeah, we are about to go "APES**T" on this salad. The Carters made us do it.
