Usually, when we are writing about Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, it's to comment on the 21-year-old’s shocking resemblance to her mother. While this is one of those times, we’re also here to report that, in a surprising turn of events, Phillippe just gave us a rare glimpse into her relationship with her boyfriend, Owen Mahoney.

On Monday, the actress’s daughter posted a sweet selfie of herself and Maloney on vacation in Austin, Texas. “The bats were feeling shy…so here’s a pic of us instead,” she captioned the photo of the duo smiling with the city skyline in the background. Based on the location, it seems like she is referring to the famous bat flights at the Congress Avenue Bridge that have become a major tourist attraction.

The couple, who met and began dating in 2019, clearly has the approval of the Little Fires Everywhere actress. She even showed her daughter’s relationship some love in the comments section of the social media post, writing, “These two,” alongside a heart-eye emoji.

Of course, the image was also flooded with comments about the likeness between Phillippe and her mother. In addition, some even compared Maloney to a young version of the 21-year-old’s father, Ryan Phillippe. One user wrote, “Looks like you and your dad or a younger version of your parents!” while another added, “I thought this was a throwback pic of your parents!”

The young adult is no stranger to being compared to her lookalike mom. Everything from their smiles to their long blonde hair screams doppelgänger, and it’s only getting more evident with age.
