Ashley Graham Just Got Super Real About Her Postpartum Journey

Ashley Graham is fully depicting motherhood in all its realness.

First, she opened up about how her body changed during pregnancy, then she bucked the glamamom norm and shared a low-key breastfeeding pic and now she’s speaking candidly about the woes of postpartum care.

The 32-year-old Pretty Big Deal podcast host shared a photo of her postpartum body on Instagram yesterday, and made a really good point about the mysterious fourth trimester.

“Raise your hand if you didn’t know you’d be changing your own diapers too,” Graham joked while posing in Frida Mom disposable postpartum underwear ($16). Yes, having a baby usually means you have to wear disposable underwear (aka diapers) for a while. Fun.

She continued to shed light on her journey as a new mom, writing, “After all these years in fashion I never could’ve guessed that disposable underwear would be my favorite piece of clothing but here we are! No one talks about the recovery and healing (yes even the messy parts) new moms go through. I wanted to show you guys that it’s not all rainbows and butterflies!”

The model added, “It’s been tough, but my friend Chelsea @cmrh and ceo at @fridamom is making waves and starting honest conversations. It’s unbelievable the obstacles we still face talking about what women really go through. All their stuff she sent me has been a life saver.”

To all pregnant ladies and new moms, Graham is talking about the super helpful FridaBaby Postpartum Recovery Essentials Kit, which is $66 on Amazon.

Kudos to you, Ashley, for shining a light on the postpartum experience and dolling out recommendations in the process.
