And the Next Bachelor Is...

It’s official: The Bachelor has found its new star.

ABC has chosen Peter Weber as the person who will lead season 24 of The Bachelor, as announced on Tuesday night during the Bachelor in Paradise season finale. After much deliberation, the network extended the offer to the 28-year-old pilot, who originally appeared on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette.

Also on Tuesday, ABC revealed the 33 women who "may be" vying for the bachelor's heart during the 2020 season, meaning that some of these women may get cut before the season even airs (on Colton's season, there were 30 women to start). Although they didn't reveal their careers (wacky or otherwise), they did reveal the women's names and hometowns, something they also did ahead of Hannah Brown's season before she was chosen as The Bachelorette

Last month, Us Weekly revealed that ABC was deliberating among Weber (aka Pilot Pete), Mike Johnson and Tyler Cameron, who all appeared on Brown's season of The Bachelorette. Both Johnson and Cameron were rumored to be dating Demi Lovato and Gigi Hadid respectively, though, so they were supposedly out of the running.

Let the countdown begin.
