What started out as a string of clever fan tweets has turned into a thriller/action film starring none other than Rihanna and Lupita Nyong'o.

It all began with a photo of Rihanna and Nyong'o sitting side by side at a Miu Miu fashion show in 2014. The pic made its debut in true TBT fashion on Twitter:

So what's the big deal? It it all comes down to one fan's response: “Rihanna looks like she scams rich white men,” she wrote. “And Lupita is the computer smart best friend that helps plan the scams.”

Understandably, fans went a tad cray at the thought of a possible heist film starring the gal pals. They proceeded to tweet, plead and tag Rihanna and Nyong'o in a series of messages praising the freshly concocted, Oscar-worthy idea.

And Nyong'o, who was the first of the pair to notice the onslaught of tweets, was quick to respond:

Which, of course, caught Rihanna's attention:

“Pit'z.” Pet names? Check. But wait...there's more.

Any major motion picture requires a talented writer and director. So, naturally, fans went on to name Selma director Ava DuVernay and Insecure writer Issa Rae as the brains behind the make-believe project.

And according to DuVernay, all four women are now in a group text discussing (and laughing at) the project that seemingly came out of nowhere.

Nice work, Twitter-verse. Coming soon to a theater near you: Untitled Twitter Project, starring Ri Ri and Pit'z.
