We Don’t Mean to Alarm You, but Barbra Streisand Cloned Her Dog...Twice
Just when you thought it was a normal Tuesday, news drops that makes you rethink your understanding of modern technology...and the sheer determination of Barbra Streisand.
The 14-time Grammy winner revealed she collected cells from her favorite white Coton de Tulear pup, Samantha, before she died in 2017 and decided to have her cloned…twice. Now the songstress has two Samantha clones and an additional dog that happens to be Samantha’s “distant cousin.” (Take a moment to process.)
Streisand admitted she had a difficult time telling the pups apart at first, so she put one clone in a violet sweater and the other in a red one. She aptly named them Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett.
Their blue-outfitted friend is Samantha’s aforementioned cousin, Miss Fanny, who the Oscar winner felt compelled to purchase after learning the pup’s mother was named Funny Girl.
The moon landing, an A.I. with a grudge against Chrissy Teigen and now Babs’s cloned canines. Thank you, science and technology.
