Do you like spicy food? Yes? Awesome. If not, you might want to look away.
A new pepper has been invented, and it’s just been named the hottest pepper in the world. Introducing Pepper X.
Just how hot is it? It’s claimed to land at 3.18 million units on the Scoville scale. That’s the standard measurement of pepper heat. For comparison, a jalapeño is 3,500 to 10,000 Scovilles. Pepper X is even hotter than Dragon’s Breath (you know, the medicinal-purposes-only hot pepper that’s not available for consumption). Ouch.
If you’re daring, you can taste the mega-hot pepper in The Last Dab hot sauce from Hot Ones. It’s preorder only for now, so stock up on Tums while you wait.
