Meghan Markle took a quick trip to NYC this week for a baby shower with her American friends and fam. One person on the duchess's must-see list? Tennis legend and all-around celeb girl crush Serena Williams, one of her best friends. The two pals, who met nearly ten years ago at the Super Bowl, decided to splurge, meeting up at the high-end restaurant the Ralph Lauren Polo Bar.
The duchess, who is approximately seven-months pregnant, wore black faux calf-hair Tamara Mellon boots, a blue Victoria Beckham coat, Hatch maternity jeans and carried a black vegan leather Stella McCartney Falabella tote for her BFF date night.
Williams is reportedly hosting the duchess's baby shower, according to Page Six.
Markle and Williams dined at the Midtown bar and restaurant, which boasts upscale classics like a burger for $28, caviar (ooh, fancy) and the Polo crab cake for $20. Markus Anderson, a SoHo house executive and longtime friend of the duchess's, also joined.
Per Vanity Fair, Williams and Markle enjoyed their dinner at the Polo Bar for about three hours...and we can only imagine what it would be like to have actually been eating there when these two superstars swept through (en route to a private dining room, we're betting).
Markle was spotted wearing an all-black ensemble earlier in the day, when she was reportedly heading to her shower. On the guest list? Stylist Jessica Mulroney, Williams (of course), Priyanka Chopra, Misha Nonoo, Amal Clooney and Markle's Suits co-star Abigail Spencer. Markle's first child is due in late April or early May.
We hope the duchess and Williams took some leftovers home last night for late-night snacking...although, Prince Harry's already going to pick up the room-service bill, so why not order a midnight snack?
