Daenerys Targaryen, first of her name and queen of…rom-coms?
Game of Thrones’s Emilia Clarke will star opposite Crazy Rich Asians’s Henry Golding in a new movie, Last Christmas, and the actor just posted the first photo of the film.
He captioned the shot: “Mark my words, this one is going to be special… First official look at Kate and Tom from @lastchristmasthemovie. November could not come any sooner!! X”
Clarke will play Kate, a woman who works as an elf in a department store during the holidays (Elf much?). Golding will play Tom, who is a night-time courier who volunteers at a homeless shelter. Golding’s on-screen mom from Crazy Rich Asians, Michelle Yeoh, will also star.
Last Christmas takes place in 2016, “against the backdrop of Brexit and Donald Trump being elected President of the United States, the director said the film is ‘first and foremost a love story’—one that provides ‘a chance to go against so much intolerance and see what a melting pot London, and the world, is,’” according to E! Online.
The log line for the Universal Pictures film reads, “As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. But sometimes, you gotta let the snow fall where it may, you gotta listen to your heart…and you gotta have faith.”
Last Christmas is set to premiere on November 15, 2019.
We guess that whole Jon Snow thing didn’t work out after all…
