Holy Lady Mary! The ‘Downton Abbey’ Movie Posters Are Finally Here
Grab your monocle and take a look at the newest Downton Abbey movie posters, which were just released today.
The four new photos give us a glimpse of the characters (Lady Mary and Lady Edith, is that you?!) as well as two of the Crawley family servants polishing up the silver and glasses.
The movie, due out in fall 2019, will follow the Crawleys as it picks up 18 months after the PBS show left off. And from the looks of it, Lady Mary is settling into the 1920s flapper fashion nicely (and we're lovin' the new 'do!).
Directed by Michael Engler and written by Julian Fellowes (who created the TV show), the movie will see the return of Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode), Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery), Lady Cora (Elizabeth McGovern), the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith), Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael), Anna Bates (Joanne Froggatt), John Bates (Brendan Coyle), the Earl of Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) and more. The movie is set to premiere on September 20, 2019.
The posters come after new photos from the movie were released, including ones with Lady Mary and Henry Talbot in a romantic moment, Anna and Bates sharing a smile and holding hands, and Edith and Bertie joined by their daughter returning to Downton Abbey.
They also arrive a few months after the release of the first teaser trailer of the film, which showed the Grantham estate readying for the return of its beloved residents.
Someone ring for Mr. Carson. We need a nice hot cuppa tea to calm our excitement.
