Just like mixing prints, stacking rings is an art form best learned through hands-on experience. That said, you don’t need to jump off the deep end and blindly try any ring combo you can think of. Here, the three best tips for creating a simple, pretty stack, courtesy of yours truly and our friends at Catbird.
Tip 1: For rings you plan to wear together, look for shapes that complement one another (say, an inverted crescent ring around a round-stone ring).
Tip 2: Use two delicate rings to bookend more of a statement piece.
Tip 3: If you plan on decking out your whole hand, vary the textures, widths, number or even metals on each finger to keep things interesting.
