This Terrifying New Movie Is Already Ranked #1 on Netflix After Only 4 Days

We’re majorly spooked by Netflix’s all-new slasher film (in the best way possible).

Fear Street Part One: 1994which is the first installment in the highly anticipated trilogy—recently premiered on the streaming service, and it’s already claimed a spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched movies.

In the trailer, we’re introduced to the scary story line, which takes place in 1994 (duh). Similar to the Scream franchise, it follows a group of teenagers—but this time, they’re living in the town of Shadyside, Ohio, where a series of terrifying events have occurred.

“Another Shadyside tragedy,” someone says in the clip. “Fits the narrative, right?”

After some digging, the teens arrive at two hypotheses: 1. The incidents might be related. And 2. they might be the next targets. “Maybe we are doomed,” someone adds.

The official synopsis reads, “After a series of brutal slayings, a teen and her friends take on an evil force that's plagued their notorious town for centuries.”

Cast members include Kiana Madeira, Olivia Welch, Benjamin Flores Jr., Julia Rehwald, Fred Hechinger, Ashley Zukerman, Maya Hawke, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Jordana Spiro, Jordyn DiNatale, Jeremy Ford and David W. Thompson.

Fear Street Part One: 1994 was directed by Leigh Janiak (Honeymoon). Although it’s based on the namesake book series by R. L. Stine, the filmmaker also co-wrote the script alongside Phil Graziadei (Not Fade Away) and Kyle Killen (The Beaver).

Fear Street Part One: 1994 is now streaming on Netflix. Part 2: 1978 will premiere on July 9, followed by Part 3: 1666 on July 16. Mark your calendar (if you dare).
