For the past week, Taylor Swift has been dropping subtle hints on social media that are leading us to believe there’s a surprise album coming our way. And now, the 29-year-old singer addressed the rumors by sharing a totally unrelated photo of her cat, Olivia Benson.
Yesterday, Swift shared a pic on Instagram featuring her four-legged friend—who looks genuinely shocked—and wrote, “She just read all the theories.”
The post is in response to rumors about potential new music. It all started earlier this week when Swift shared a photo on Instagram featuring seven palm trees. When she posted a pic of herself sitting on the sixth step, followed a snap with five peek-a-boo holes, fans were quick to realize that it’s some sort of a countdown.
So, will Swift pull a Beyoncé and drop a surprise album? If the rumors are true, it will be her first album since she left Big Machine Records for Republic and Universal Music Group back in November. The singer’s previous album, Reputation, earned her an American Music Award for Favorite Album Pop/Rock and a Billboard Music Award for Top Selling Album.
