It’s official, Game of Thrones has truly ended. And while fans are bidding farewells, cast members have been sharing tributes to the show and their characters.
Following Emilia Clarke’s touching tribute, Sophie Turner posted her own sentimental goodbye to her character Sansa Stark on Sunday. The 23-year-old actress thanked her character and the show for the past decade together, alongside photos of the cast from behind the scenes of filming.
“Sansa, Thank you for teaching me resilience, bravery and what true strength really is” she captioned the post. “Thank you teaching me to be kind and patient and to lead with love.”
Turner, who played the eldest Stark sister, obtained the role when she was just 13. “I grew up with you. I fell in love with you at 13 and now 10 years on.. at 23 I leave you behind, but I will never leave behind what you’ve taught me,” she continued.
She also thanked the show in its entirety, including the cast, crew and of course the fans (you’re welcome, Soph).
“To the show and the incredible people who make it, thank you for giving me the best life and drama lessons I could have ever asked for. Without you I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank you for giving me this chance all those years ago. And finally to the fans. Thank you for falling in love with these characters and supporting this show right through till the end. I’ll miss this more than anything.”
And while we are so sad to see an era come to an end, we can’t wait to see what is next for the Dark Phoenix actress.
