Regina King just walked the red carpet at the 2019 Oscars and spilled details about her role in If Beale Street Could Talk.
Tonight, the 48-year-old actress arrived at the 91st annual Academy Awards wearing a chic white gown by Oscar de la Renta. During an interview on the red carpet, King discussed her role in If Beale Street Could Talk and revealed that she learned about the project while directing season two, episode six of This Is Us, titled “The 20’s.”
The episode, which aired back in October 2017, wasn’t the actress’s first time sitting in the director’s chair. In fact, King has helmed a number of popular series, including Scandal, The Catch, Being Mary Jane, Pitch, Shameless and Animal Kingdom.
Although she didn’t receive any directing nods for tonight’s ceremony, King won an Oscar Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for playing Sharon Rivers in If Beale Street Could Talk.
If you need us, we’ll be crossing our fingers for a Regina King cameo on This Is Us.
