Kate Middleton Just Revealed 1 of Prince Louis’s First Words Was ‘Mary’ (as in Mary Berry)

It appears Kate Middleton and Prince William are just as obsessed as we are with Mary Berry. The Duchess of Cambridge, 37, even revealed that one of Prince Louis’s first words was inspired by The Great British Baking Show alum, 84.

The royal couple recently starred in a one-hour Christmas special on BBC, titled A Berry Royal Christmas. During the show, Middleton discussed her 1-year-old son and admitted that he’s picking up on how much she idolizes Berry.

In fact, one of Prince Louis’s first words was “Mary” thanks to the large number of cookbooks the duchess keeps in her kitchen. “One of Louis’s first words was ‘Mary’ because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf,” she said, according to BBC .

Middleton went on to say that her kids are very observant—so much so that Prince Louis would recognize Berry if he saw her in public.

“And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books and he would say, ‘That’s Mary Berry.’ So, he would definitely recognize you if he saw you today,” she added.

The duchess also discussed her passion for baking, including the annual tradition she created where she stays up late on the eve of her children’s birthdays, so they can wake up to a homemade cake.

“I love making the cake,” Middleton told Berry, as Hello! magazine reports. “It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up ’til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing, and I make far too much. But I love it.”

Maybe this calls for a Prince Louis cameo during next year’s holiday special? Hey, we can dream.
