Another Twist! New Peloton Ad Responds to 'And Just Like That...' Shock Ending

*Warning: Major spoilers ahead

And just like that...the big reboot twist didn't really happen. Or at least, according to Peloton.

Although fans are still reeling from that shocker ending in the series premiere of the Sex and the City revival, the stationary bike company took to social media to add another grand twist of their own. Via Twitter, Peloton released a 30-second ad starring none other than Chris Noth as Big and Jess King as his favorite bike instructor, Allegra.

If you recall, in the first episode of the Sex and the City reboot, Big unfortunately dies of a heart attack after riding his stationary bike in an intense fitness class led by Allegra. And as co-hosts Phil Mutz and Dara Katz discussed at length on And Just Like That...a Sex and the City Reboot Podcast, not everyone saw this soul-crushing scene coming (FYI, you can listen to the first episode here and below and subscribe). But in this new Peloton ad, Big's character looks very much alive as he sits with Allegra and toasts to "new beginnings" during a romantic getaway. As Big glances behind them, he asks her, "Shall we take another ride? Life's too short not to." As the camera zooms out, we see two of the brand's stationary bikes sitting right behind the sofa.

In a clever voiceover, Ryan Reynolds says, "And just like that, the world is reminded that regular cycling stimulates and improves your heart, lungs and circulation, reducing your risk of cardiovascular diseases. Cycling strengthens your heart muscles, resting pulse and reduces blood-fat levels."

Then, towards the end, Reynolds casually quips, "He’s alive."

Peloton's swift new ad comes as a response to the stock drop they faced right after the episode got released, thanks to the brand's ties to Big's heartbreaking death. And clearly, fans are impressed. One Twitter user wrote, "Genius!!!" while another added, "This is a great bit of marketing."

Well played, Peloton...
