Leave it to Nick Jonas to make us fall in love with a song (and him) all over again.
The 26-year-old singer showed his enthusiasm for the upcoming 91st Academy Awards by posting a video on Instagram of himself singing Shallow from A Star Is Born.
The short clip shows Jonas rocking a New York Yankees cap and hoodie (with his guitar of course) belting out the lyrics.
“In honor of Oscar weekend…such a beautiful song,” he captioned the post. We can only assume his wife, Pryanka Chopra, took the video. And let’s not forget the sweet note she left in the comments section: “Ummmm. U always take my breath away..” We couldn’t agree more.
He’s not the first one to cover the popular song, however. Kelly Clarkson also did a rendition, and Lea Michele and Darren Criss performed the duet on tour.
In case you’ve been residing in a soundproof booth in the middle of the woods, the song is one of this year’s Oscar contenders forOriginal Song, and Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are set to perform it live on Sunday at the ceremony. Guess we know who Jonas is rooting for.
Looks like we’re not the only ones getting excited for the Oscars.
