New Video Shows Kate Middleton & Prince William Doing Their Signature Parenting Move...at the Same Time

No matter where they are, Prince William and Kate Middleton always have parenting on the brain. Yes, even at royal engagements.

We’ve seen evidence of this time and time again as the Duchess of Cambridge has used her signature parenting move (bending down to meet the eye-line of children while talking).

Most recently, Middleton performed the move at the Royal Variety Performance in London, last month. But in a new video shared by the official @KensingtonRoyal Instagram account, we see both Middleton and Prince William doing the move at the same exact time during the event.

Kensington Palace shared the never-before-seen video from the performance, showcasing the royal couple arriving and mingling with guests, including two children. In the clip, the couple bends down to the children while chatting and accepting their gifts.

Watch the sweet moment below.

Why Do They Do This Move?

Well, making eye contact with children fosters open communication. By meeting kids eye-to-eye, the royals don’t assert their dominance and instead encourage children to express themselves on equal terms.

And while this is a move usually performed by Middleton, we’re happy to see it rubbing off on her hubby.
