Mark Your Calendars: ‘The Handmaid's Tale’ Season 3 Just Got a Release Date

Clear our calendars and forward our mail to Gilead, because Hulu finally announced the premiere date for season three of The Handmaid's Tale, and it's so much sooner than we expected.

The show will return for its junior season in...June, which is only fitting, considering it's Elisabeth Moss's character's real name (although she mostly goes by Offred, aka her Handmaid's name).

The Handmaid's Tale got a premiere date of June 5, meaning there's two-and-a-half months separating us from knowing what will happen to June, Emily (Alexis Bledel), June's daughter Hannah (Jordana Blake), Luke (O-T Fagbenle), Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) and the rest of the Gilead gang.

The last glimpse we got of the show was during the Super Bowl. The streaming service debuted a teaser trailer, and it seems June/Offred may have finally joined the house-cleaner Marthas to help others like her escape from their handmaid lives. ICYMI, there was also a 12-second teaser that premiered the week before and foreshadowed this Super Bowl spot. In it,  June is wearing the Marthas’ typical green-gray robes as opposed to the handmaids’ vivid red ensembles.

When we last saw our heroic June in the season two finale, she had a chance to escape. However, she ultimately opted to send her baby to safety with Emily in hopes of getting her little girl out of Gilead too.

Refresh yourself on season two, then prepare for the emotional rollercoaster that's coming this summer. (We. Can't. Wait.)
