How Many Episodes Will There Be?

There will be ten glorious episodes in season three and innumerable sequin and spandex bodysuits.

Is There A Trailer?

There sure is. Netflix dropped the latest trailer last month and revealed that the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling are headlining a new gig at the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. But while it may seem like it’s all glitz and glamour, each character struggles to find their footing in Sin City and balance love with their day-to-day life.

Is The Entire Cast Returning?

Despite all the changes in the world of GLOW, Alison Brie (Ruth Wilder), Betty Gilpin (Debbie Eagan), Kate Nash (Rhonda), Britney Young (Carmen), Gayle Rankin (Sheila), Kia Stevens (Tammé) and Jackie Tohn (Melanie), as well as Marc Maron (Sam Sylvia) and Chris Lowell (Bash) are all saying viva Las Vegas and returning. Thank goodness, because we hate goodbyes.

Are There Any New Characters?

There will be a new (but very familiar) face in the GLOW world. Geena Davis of Thelma and Louise fame is set to join the season three cast as Sandy Devereaux St. Clair. What a name, right? Sandy is the entertainment director of the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino, the new home of the women’s wrestling show. Charmed, we’re sure.

What Happened Last Season?

A lot. In the season two finale, Sam made Ruth the show’s co-director right before they all learned that GLOW (the show within the show) isn’t getting picked up for another season. Thinking fast, Ray (Horatio Sanz) decides to take their show on the road and send the girls to Las Vegas where they can establish a residency. Ruth leaves her boyfriend Russell (Victor Quinaz) behind, Debbie says goodbye to her baby and, in a surprising twist, Bash asks Rhonda to marry him for immigration reasons. The only question? Did he ask her to become his wife in order to avoid the fact that he may be homosexual or did he just want to help her get a green card? We’ll have to wait and see.

What Will Happen In Season Three?

Not a ton of plot details have been revealed (to avoid spoilers), but we do know the ladies have left Los Angeles for the more neon-ed pastures of Las Vegas. Judging from the trailer and from PureWow’s exclusive interview with Young, we do know a few things. For one, Ruth is still with her boyfriend, Russell, and Betty desperately misses her son. Not only that, but she’s having difficulty navigating her new role as a producer with her original duties as a performer.

According to Young, the cast starts out “really leaning into the Vegas life, drinking, partying, staying out all night and everyone is having a good time. And then as the season progresses, we really start to see how big of a toll this is taking on each of the girls. It’s really interesting to see who by the end is like, ‘I’m ready to go home,’ and who’s like, ‘Hey, I could live this life forever.’” From the sound of it, Young’s character has a difficult time adjusting. As Young explained, “[Carmen is] still trying to figure out what her place within GLOW is and as the season continues, she starts to wonder what she’s doing.”

One other detail? Young says the cast members will switch wrestling personas in one of the episodes.

We can’t wait to watch when GLOW hits Netflix on Friday, August 9.
