Dionne Warwick's Response to Regé-Jean Page Leaving ‘Bridgerton’ Is So Extra and So on Point

If you're like us, then you're probably still grieving the fact that Regé-Jean Page won't be returning to Bridgerton for season 2.

However, one thing that's helping to ease the pain is Dionne Warwick's hilarious (& relatable) reaction to the tragic news. When the famous singer saw the announcement, she immediately tweeted, saying, "No, @regejean! You CANNOT leave me like that. I WILL NOT have it! @bridgerton!!!!!!"

Warwick wasn't the only one feeling upset, because her tweet received over 24k likes and it was met with support by fans, like one user who said, "thank you!! speak on it queen!! let them know." Another added, "you heard her, Regè-Jean... you aren’t allowed to leave. Ms. Dionne said so!"

However, the 'Queen of Twitter' didn't stop there. Warwick followed the tweet with a video, where she used a unicorn animoji to demand a retraction of the statement. She captioned her video, "I demand a retraction, @bridgerton!!!! I need to hear this news straight from @regejean if this is true."

In the clip, the 80-year-old singer directly addresses Lady Whistledown, saying, "Now tell me you are lying with that letter that you just wrote???? About my...uh uh, he cannot be leaving! No way. I will not have it and I want him to know it! I want YOU to know it! So I want you to make a retraction of what I just read, OK? I'm serious. I need to hear from him, out of his mouth, OK? Thank you."

Warwick's reaction was one of many that actually did spur a response from the Duke of Hastings. Page told Variety that he had known his role of Simon would only last for one season. He said when the crew pitched a one-season arc, it was intriguing because "it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on."

Page said he is excited to start new projects, adding, "I have nothing but excitement for 'Bridgerton' continuing to steam train off and conquer the globe. But there is also value in completing these arcs and sticking the landing."

We're with Warwick on this one. But it seems we'll just have to hope for a cameo (or ten).
