Princess Eugenie's Second Wedding Dress Broke Royal Protocol

We can’t deny that Princess Eugenie’s second wedding dress was stunning (to say the least), but you might be surprised to know it broke royal protocol.

The princess recently tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Although she wore a custom Peter Pilotto gown during the ceremony, the bride changed into a Zac Posen ensemble for the reception.

The problem(s)? As the Daily Mail points out, the second dress was designed by an American designer (not a British one). And since Posen was inspired by “the blush of an English rose,” the gown was light pink, instead of traditional white.

While it doesn’t seem like a huge deal, it’s a bold move for the royal family. Not only did Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle both wear British designers during their receptions, but they also opted for the traditional color scheme.

Breaking down royal traditions, one dress at a time.
