‘Hustlers’ Star Keke Palmer Just Snagged a Major New Gig

In case you’re unfamiliar, Keke Palmer is an actress (Akeèlah and the Bee and the upcoming film Hustlers, anyone?), she’s a singer/rapper (her new single “Twerk and Flirt” just dropped) and a former Nickelodeon star (RIP True Jackson, VP). Now, the 26-year-old is adding yet another job to her résumé: Good Morning America host.

Earlier this year, Palmer made waves when she filled in for third-hour host Sara Haines, who was on maternity leave, and crushed it alongside Michael Strahan. Producers were so pleased with her work that they’ve opted to add her as brand-new co-host to the Strahan & Sara GMA3 segment of the morning show. Now, the block will be fittingly retitled GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke.

Strahan, 47, and Haines, 41, welcomed Palmer to her new gig by simultaneously trolling her and giving her a little gift. (Watch below.)

As you can see, they kicked things off by pretending that they were going to slime Palmer (poor thing) but then just made her push a button so she could see the show’s new logo. In our opinion, that’s a much better gift than a vat of green guck.

The announcement comes as Good Morning America is making a large push to become more relatable with a younger audience. Snagging a millennial host is a good way to do that. And speaking of Palmer’s age, news of her new gig comes just in time for her birthday, which is today.

No word yet on when she’ll start full-time on GMA.

All we can say is happy birthday and congrats, Keke. Try to keep Strahan and his dad jokes in check—please and thanks.
