Glenn Close Was Dripping in Diamonds and Sapphires at the ‘Time’ 100 Gala

Last night's Time 100 Gala was a veritable who's who of famous people we love. That includes the inimitable Glenn Close.

Upon first glance, we were in total awe of Close's embellished blazer-pants combination. But it was her jewelry that really stole the show.

As it turns out, the actress was wearing a whole lot of Cartier bling, including a pair of High Jewelry earrings featuring sapphires and diamonds, along with a platinum High Jewelry ring set with the same precious stones. 

Close was honored on this year's list, joining a seriously impressive group that includes Ariana Grande, Sandra Oh, Regina King and Emilia Clarke. 

Her bio was written by Robert Redford, whom Close met in the '80s on the set of The Natural. "Glenn is a major talent," he wrote. "An actor who is deeply committed to her craft. She doesn’t play roles as much as she transforms herself into them, never allowing her own personality or celebrity to get in the way. Through many years now, I’ve been able to call her a friend and colleague. She never looks back, and neither do I. I just try to keep up with her—looking forward to her next performance, always."

Very kind words, but we might have to read them again, seeing as we were kind of distracted by all that bling.
