Move Over, Chocolate: These Giant Cheese Eggs Are All We Want for Easter

It’s almost Easter, which means a lot of egg-shaped items are hitting store shelves everywhere. But this year, we’re not just looking at hollowed-out chocolate.

Enter an egg made out of English cheddar cheese. According to Pretty52, The Cheester Egg (we see what they did there), will be available at Sainsbury’s in the U.K. and is made of 100 percent cheese.

Per the bright yellow packaging, the egg itself weighs about 120 grams. That’s about a quarter of a pound of cheese…nice.

But this isn’t the kind of cheese you need to take a knife to and chop up into little bite-size chunks. This magical egg is spreadable (!) and comes with a stack of oatcakes and a little package of chutney. Convenient.

Cheese aficionados across the pond can pick one up at Sainsbury’s beginning April 10. But don’t worry, wherever you are, you can order one online ($6.50) on the chains website. We’ll be trying both the cheddar and Blacksticks Blue.

Looks like Cheester came early this year.
