For new parents, a good night’s sleep is the ultimate unicorn—a beautiful thing that sadly doesn’t exist. But pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp (of The Happiest Baby on the Block fame) claims to have the solution. His high-tech bassinet (the “Snoo”) rocks and shushes a baby to sleep, mimicking the womb.
And ever since its launch in 2016, the Snoo has received copious praise from sleep-deprived parents. The only snag? It comes with a $1,300 price tag. But here’s some good news—parents can now rent the bassinet for a fraction of the price.
Happiest Baby just announced that the Snoo is available to rent for $149 per month, with a one-month minimum rental. This works out to roughly $5 per day (which Dr. Karp points out is the same price as your fancy morning latte habit).
Newborns can sleep in the Snoo until they’re about 6 months old, bringing the total price of the rental to $900 if you use it for that entire length of time—cheaper than buying your own but still pretty expensive. Then again, can you really put a price on sleeping more than two hours every night? Guess it’s time to start bringing our coffee in from home.
