The royal family has certainly grabbed our attention once again: A  brand-new royal portrait has just been released, and it involves a certain prince saluting in full uniform.

On Thursday, Prince William, 41, made an appearance at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth and presided over the Passing Out Parade, which saw more than 100 young cadets graduate from officer training. To mark the occasion, the royal family shared a few photos of the event on Instagram, including a new portrait of the prince taking the royal salute. The caption reads, "Congratulations to the remarkable Young Officers on your Passing Out Parade."

It continues, "Your dedication, discipline and hard work have brought you to this significant milestone as you embark on this incredible journey of duty and service around the world."

In the second slide of the post, the royal is seen proudly saluting the graduates. He donned the full ceremonial uniform of Royal Navy greatcoat, featuring multiple pins and the cyphers of both King Charles and Queen Elizabeth. One fan commented, "Love seeing William in uniform. His grandparents, especially his grandfather, is looking down on him with pride!" Another wrote, "Prince William looks great in uniform, a worthy future king."

Other slides feature candid shots of the royal engaging with the cadets and instructors, but there's an additional new pic that really caught our attention. Here, we see a striking close-up of His Royal Highness, where he's seen saluting from behind.

The ceremony marked a full-circle moment for the prince, who attended a training course at the college in 2008. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, the late Prince Philip, who also graduated from Britannia Royal Naval College.

During his speech at the ceremony, he said, "It is a great honor for me, as Commodore-in-Chief Submarines, to be with you here in BRNC, representing His Majesty The King at Lord High Admiral’s Divisions...Whilst my own Passing Out Parade was at Sandhurst, Britannia Royal Naval College still holds a very special place in my heart. It is well known that my grandmother and grandfather met here, while my great-grandfather King George VI was conducting these very duties."

We're sure the late queen and Prince Philip would be proud of their (very photogenic) grandson.
