How to Find Your “Secret” Messages on Facebook
You’ll never believe who tried to contact you
You ping messages back and forth on Facebook all day long with your pals, but did you know that there’s a pretty aggressive spam filter that could be blocking message requests and more? Here’s how to check your “secret” inbox for notes.
OK, so what do I do? Log into Facebook and click the messages tab in the upper right hand corner of the screen. At the top, you’ll see a grayed-out option called Message Requests. Click it, then select See Filtered Requests. A separate inbox will open up and a list of messages blocked by your Facebook spam filter will appear.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Look, most of the messages in there will probably be junk, but don’t be surprised if you spot a couple of requests from an old colleague/ex/high school frenemy you haven’t heard from in years.
But how do I respond? Simply click the message and choose Accept. Let the blast-from-the-past chat convo begin.
