9 Workouts to Offset All the Feasting You’re About to Do
Aka a perfect excuse to eat more pie
Don’t get us wrong, we fully support treating yourself during the holidays, and while that can (and should) include a second helping of stuffing, it can also mean getting a good, sweaty, endorphin-fueled workout amid all the indulgence. Here are nine ways to get your heart pumping so you can feast like there’s no tomorrow.
Fact: It’s impossible not to be in a good mood while bouncing on a trampoline. Kick off Turkey Day (8 a.m. Thursday) at this studio, with a workout that also incorporates dance cardio and weights, and you’ll have a spring in your step that not even tryptophan can keep down.

Let’s be real: Thanksgiving supper is only the tip of the gluttony iceberg. There are also the Wednesday-night drinks, the pre-dinner cheese plate, the leftover-turkey sandwiches… Luckily, Crunch has a schedule to match, with Turkey Burn ’n’ Firm rides (45 minutes of cycling followed by 30 minutes of abs) throughout the week at seven different locations.

While battling the Black Friday crowds at Macy’s is probably a decent workout, we’d much rather burn 800-plus calories rowing with the pack at this studio. Both the Chelsea and Columbus Circle locations will have amped-up versions of their classes throughout the day, so if you do decide to go bargain hunting, you’ll be that much stronger than your adversaries.

You have two opportunities to celebrate #sweatsgiving at this cycling spot with its Burn the Bird class on Thursday or Friday morning (both at 10 a.m.). Though be warned: a solid 90 minutes on a bike is not for the faint of heart (but imagine how great you’ll feel afterward).

We love this cycling studio for its full-body routines and killer sound tracks, so we can’t wait to see what its 60-minute Turkey Twerk workout has in store (offered at all three locations Thanskgiving Day).

Mile High Run Club
Lace up those Nikes. The treadmill-workout studio hosts a competitive Turkey Trot at both its locations on Thanksgiving morning (8 a.m. in Noho, 9 a.m. in NoMad). Running for pie may be motivation enough, but they’ve thrown in a little something extra to sweeten the pot: The first-place runners will nab special prizes.

Stuffing your face on Thanksgiving is kind of the whole point, but you have to admit it can wreak havoc on your body. This Turkey Day Workshop (Thursday at 8 a.m.) will get your blood pumping with 45 minutes of vinyasa flow, followed by 30 minutes of digestion-boosting restorative poses.

The strength-building, Pilates-inspired workout uses bungee cords and chairs to target every single muscle, so you know the 75-minute classes on Friday (9:30 a.m. at 92Y; 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. in Flatiron) are going to be brutal (in a good way). Just think of all those mashed potatoes as fuel.
