Here’s Exactly What Naomi Osaka Eats and Drinks in a Day

By: Rachel Gulmi
Published: April 23, 2021

For four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, maintaining a healthy diet is an absolute must. Because she spends so much time training on the tennis court and conditioning in the gym, Osaka has a pretty regimented meal plan. However, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t treat herself once in a while. When the folks at BODYARMOR LYTE asked about her 2021 health resolutions Osaka said, “Be more aware of the impact of things I put in my body. I know that I can get away with eating certain things sometimes, so maybe just treating myself better.” With that in mind, keep on reading to take a peek into Osaka’s food diary and see how she fuels up.

Breakfast
“Typically, when I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is drink a smoothie that my trainer Yutaka [Nakamura] makes me. It has kale, spinach, Coconut BODYARMOR LYTE…I feel like it has kiwi in it. It’s a guessing game for me but that’s the first thing I drink and then normally I have rye bread with smoked salmon and avocado.”

Snack
“If I snack during the day, maybe I eat an onigiri with umeboshi in it or mixed nuts. I would say I don’t snack that often, but—for example—I’ll eat the onigiri right after I practice and then have the nuts after a gym session. So, usually, I snack after I do some sort of physical activity. I also enjoy drinking BODYARMOR LYTE because the potassium really helps me stay hydrated. And I think I do get hangry…and normally people can tell.”

Dinner
“I usually eat dinner around 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. but sometimes the times get a little bit pushed back. My dinner is very, very important so I don’t really miss that one that much. Before matches, I eat plain pasta with olives or chicken. It’s not too complicated.”
