If you can’t remember the last time you cleaned your yoga mat (oops, neither can we), then you’re due for a scrub. Here’s the clever method that uses just three household staples to get your mat clean enough to rest your face on (because child's pose is the best pose).
What you’ll need: A lemon, baking soda and a clean sponge or cloth.
What to do: Add about a teaspoon of baking soda to a cup and a squeeze of lemon juice before topping with water. Dip your sponge or cloth into the cup and rub the mat with the mixture, then wipe it clean (you can use the same cloth soaked in water). Repeat on the other side. Oh, and skip the outdoor drying—the sun could damage your mat’s rubber. Instead, lay the mat on a towel and roll the mat and towel together. Then unroll your mat and hang it up to air-dry fully (this will take a few hours so plan accordingly).
