Greetings, dear reader. How’s it going? I know…loaded question these days. Here, I’ll take the pressure off. I’ve got to come clean about something. Something that I’ve held in for a while. Something that I am finally ready to be honest about: I have never been turned on while on a dance floor. Lap dances? Love em. Belly dancing? Amazed. Julia Stiles’ tabletop dancing scene in 10 Things I Hate About You? Formative. However, in my experience, dancing feels like a solo mission to release something deep inside rather than an opportunity to sexually connect (see: Robyn’s ‘Dancing on my own’). Okay, phew, wow… That felt good to write out loud!

With that being said, I’m sure you can imagine my reaction when The Tap Dancer by Better Love came across my desk. And my desk I mean desktop, of course. I was researching clitoral vibrators when I came across some amazing customer reviews for this one. This tiny dancer (lol) came highly recommended. I was shocked. The Tap Dancer?! Really?! Tap dancing is the least sexual type of dancing I can think of. I was truly skeptical, but I’m always down for my own personal dance party. I placed my order and awaited what I hoped would be the Fred Astaire to my Ginger Rogers.

The Tap Dancer is an ergonomic handheld silicone vibrator designed with Better Love’s patented TAPPLEASURE™ technology. It was developed to mimic the human touch you would feel during foreplay, just with more variety added into the mix. With six different speeds and in a perfectly soft body-safe silicone, it was really comfortable and fun to duet with. I especially appreciated how easy it was to shift between modes. The buttons are smooth so it kind of feels like an extension of your hand, which was really nice.

However, I will say some of the settings were a bit too much for me. At its strongest vibrational setting, it felt less like a tap dance and more like something out of the iconic Off-Broadway show STOMP. Really strong repeated penetration is just not my thing, so I just kept it on the more chill settings to enjoy myself. If something a bit powerful and steady is more your speed, this is definitely the dance partner for you. With a run time of 70 minutes, I was able to use it quite a few times before needing to give it a rest from the dance floor (my bed). It charges in about 170 minutes, which is pretty long, so I would recommend plugging into a USB while you’re out and about so that it will be ready to tango once you return home.
