When you’re home sick, the last thing you want to do is roll out of bed, put on actual pants and wait in line at the drugstore. Thanks to Zipdrug, New Yorkers no longer have to put up with such nonsense. Here’s how the new app works.
What is Zipdrug? This New York-based start-up has a concept so simple, even someone with a sinus infection and a fever can do it. Have your doctor call in your prescription to your local drugstore, then download the free app, enter your insurance and credit card information and get your medication delivered within an hour.
Who delivers it? A Zipdrug bike courier will arrive with your meds in hand. They’re HIPAA trained, so everything is confidential. Controlled substances aren't deliverable, so double check before you request that Xanax. Messengers deliver seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
How much does it cost? The delivery fee is $10. But that includes every prescription in your order--even if they’re for more than one family member. Great news for you, bad news for your flu.
