Forget Mints: Cinnamon Is the Real Deal for Breath Freshening
No Tic Tac? No problem
We’ve all been there: No matter how many times you brush your teeth or how many sticks of spearmint gum you chew, this morning’s onion bagel just won’t take a hike. That is, until you make a super-quick, three-ingredient mouthwash. Here’s the deal.
What you need: Cinnamon powder, honey, lemon juice.
What you do: Combine a half tablespoon of cinnamon powder, a small drop of honey and the juice from two lemons. Pour a cup of warm water over the top to melt the mixture, and stir until the ingredients are evenly dissolved throughout. Voilà--your very own homemade mouth rinse.
How it works: Yes, mint covers bad breath but only temporarily. Cinnamon, however, kills oral bacteria and gets rid of the odor for good. The acid of the lemon juice helps flush it all out. And the honey? Well, that’s just 'cause it’s delicious.
