Move Over, Regular Glamping—*Sea Glamping* Is the New Way to Travel

what is sea glamping 728

Glamping was everywhere last year—the Oregon Trail, Norway’s idyllic Lofoten Islands and even in a bubble on an exotic island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. But now, the trend of faux-roughing it has made its way to the water. Get those sea legs ready, because everyone and their grandma is going to be talking about sea glamping in 2019.

What exactly is “sea glamping” you ask? Well, it’s kinda like regular ol’ glamping (glam + camping) but on a boat. In particular, Celebrity Cruises is offering Galapagos Glamping, one of the first of its kind.

This once-in-a-lifetime trip involves sleeping under the stars in a cabana that transforms into a comfortable double bed; waking up to the sunrise; naturalist-guided stargazing sessions under the constellations of both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres—all as you sail along the equator and, we assume, take lots and lots of Instagrams.

Just remember: pack the Dramamine.
