Laguna Beach Travel Guide
It’s arty, upscale and waiting for you this weekend
Maybe you’re child-weary after the long summer. Maybe you’re celebrating your anniversary. Or maybe you’re smart, and don’t need any excuse at all to treat yourself to the perfect SoCal weekend. Jaw-droppingly beautiful shoreline, revitalizing outdoor activities and sophisticated lodging, fine art and dining--this is what we work for. Here's your travel guide to Laguna Beach.
The vibe here is as relaxed as a surf camp, as pampering as a world-class destination spa and as understated as an elegant Adirondack camp your family’s been visiting for generations. Spring for an ocean-view room on an upper floor, because you’ll want to enjoy both the crashing waves and the tranquil sun-ray-tile pool from your balcony.

Later, wetsuits (although long-sleeved suits are so happening): The water temperature is among the warmest in the Pacific, with mid-summer temperatures of 75 degrees. Walk south from the Montage Resort to Treasure Island Beach--rocks along the shore break protect swimming areas and there’s a natural sea arch.
This has historically been the sweetest, sleepy seaside arts village, with thousands of painters, sculptors and other creative types still working away here--and until September, showing their work at the Festival of the Arts and also creating a famed performance where they recreate paintings IRL.
Feeling ambitious? Then pedal. Or take it easy and rent an electric bike at Electric Cyclery and don’t even break a sweat while you cruise up and down the coast.

Forget your all-important swimsuit or slinky-casual slip dress to wear to dinner? Groovy hand-tooled leather sandals? What about a Japanese straw sun hat designed to collapse into a box for storage after the season’s over? It’s all part of the super-smart retail edit at Laguna Supply.

Toast to Sunset
Pasta topped with pickle pepper sauce and shrimp caught wild down in Baja and a So-Cal mule (Svedka clementine vodka, ginger beer and lime sour). All served on a brand-new deck that sits right on the sand. Questions? We didn’t think so.
