When an 18-year-old Alyssa Bossio started her Instagram account as a creative outlet at Binghamton University, she had no idea the path that this burgeoning social media passion would take her on. Fast-forward six years and 1.5 million (yup, million) followers later, and Alyssa now spends her days as a full-time influencer and blogger, traveling the globe and dreaming up gorgeous visual content for top brands. So what keeps the fire burning for this young entrepreneur in an ever-shifting landscape? “I know that in order to be happy with my life, I need to pursue what I love,” she tells us. Amen.
On how she gets that token moody glow on her photos. “I love Lightroom. It costs about $120 to purchase for your computer, so it’s definitely an investment, but it allows you to use your own custom edits and filters. My unique wash makes my work stand out!”
On the secret to her impossibly shiny mane. “I swear by coconut oil as a leave-in hair conditioner, makeup remover, body lotion and cooking oil! I always buy a huge jar, and it lasts me for months.”
On where you can find this Manhattanite when she isn’t working. “I love Madison Square Park to picnic in the summertime and Dumbo (in Brooklyn) to chill and look at the city skyline. And I love going to explore new restaurants all over town. This city makes it hard to choose a favorite.”
On the words she lives by. “Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life.”
