Fall in Yosemite means crisp temperatures and brilliantly colored leaves. But we bet you didn’t know that it’s also the time of year to sip wine in this famous national park.

For five weeks in November and December, winemakers and wine enthusiasts take over the Ahwahnee hotel for Vintners’ Holidays. The two- and three-day travel packages (from $319 to $574 per person) give guests access to California winemakers--including Rombauer Vineyards, Benziger Family Winery and Grgich Hill Estate--and their newly harvested vintages.

Here’s what your days will look like: You hike, bike or take a rock-climbing lesson in the morning, attend wine-tasting breakout sessions in the afternoon, hobnob with winemakers at an evening reception and then gorge yourself on a five-course wine-pairing dinner at the legendary Ahwahnee dining room at night. (Corn-and-lobster bisque with Forman Vineyard’s Chardonnay, mmm.)

A national-park visit doesn’t get much better than this.
