8 reasons to love a small Texas town
Take a trip to Boerne
Now that the haze of your three-day weekend has been lifted, aren’t you yearning for another few days off?
Plan your next weekend road trip to the adorable Texas town of Boerne (BUR-nee), located just over four hours southwest of Big D.
Here's our itinerary.
How to Get There
You can easily fly from Love Field or DFW Airport, but the four-hour drive through Hill Country is actually quite lovely. Plan to stretch your legs in Fredericksburg--just 30 minutes north of Boerne on Highway 290--to see the lavender fields at Becker Vineyards.
Where to Stay
Forget the highway motor lodges. Reserve a bed at Ye Kendall Inn, a century-old, 36-room bed-and-breakfast in downtown Boerne that offers up Texas charm and comfort.
Where to Relax
After your stroll, grab a glass at the Boerne Wine Company on South Main Street. The outside limestone patio is far away from the city noise (both Dallas's and downtown Boerne's) and beckons you to sit, sip and relax.

Where to Listen to Texas tunes
Tucked behind an antique store and a parking lot is Drink Texas Biergarten that boasts twinkles lights, cold beer, and Texas-country tunes. Expect to hear way-under-the-radar musicians but the town gossip says both Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have graced Boerne with their presence so you never know what can happen on a small-town Texas night.
