Quick poll: How many of you are still jotting down appointments in a little black book?
While we admire your dedication to the written word, we’d like to introduce you to the 21st century.
Meet Sunrise Calendar.
Available for iPhone, iPad, Android and the Web, this app is not only aesthetically pleasing but also the most intuitive one out there. Here’s the gist: After installing Sunrise, sync it with iCloud, Gmail or Exchange. (Good news, Outlook diehards: Sunrise was recently purchased by Microsoft, so stay tuned.)
Once you’re in, everything is a breeze. Enter events in natural language, like “Dinner with Doug, Saturday at 8,” and Sunrise will translate. See embedded Google Map locations for events and local weather forecasts so you’ll know when to grab an umbrella. There’s also a handy switch for toggling between time zones.
But Sunrise’s biggest play is its third-party integrations. Sync it with apps like Foursquare, Songkick, Eventbrite and TripIt to pull data directly into the Sunrise interface. For example, Sunrise can show you your SXSW TripIt itinerary, as well as your 25 (and counting) Eventbrite panels.
It also uses Facebook to remind you of birthdays and LinkedIn to show you who, exactly, is attending your event. (Oh, so you’re Brad from accounting.)
