We’re all friends here, right? Cool, we’re just going to be frank: As a woman, is there anything so panic-inducing as that moment during your period when you’re certain you’ve bled through your pants? Nah.

It’s a huge bummer. That’s why one new startup, my.Flow, wants to keep it from ever happening again.

My.Flow is a Bluetooth-connected tampon that hooks up to an app on your smartphone to track, um, saturation. Basically, it’s a tampon with an extra long string that connects to a little monitor that attaches to your waistband.

The product is still in development, but the idea is that it will keep track of how full your tampon is and let you know via push notification when it’s time to put a new one in.

The whole thing seems a bit clunky. But hey, if it means being able to wear white jeans sans fear, we’re not gonna rule it out altogether.
