Looking for all of the top features of a smart speaker but short on space? The recently revealed Amazon Pop speaker, included in the line of new Echo devices announced on May 17, is not only small space-friendly (seriously, you could even stash it atop your summer reading list), but also unbelievably affordable at just $40.
This brand-new smart speaker, available for pre-order now prior to its release day of May 31, packs a ton of function into its compact size. Of course, it's Alexa-compatible, so you can easily "Ask Alexa" to complete any task, from playing music and audiobooks to checking the weather and even re-ordering your most-used supplies. Beyond that, the speaker can be connected to your smart home devices to control power and lighting. The device itself is available to purchase with or without a smart plug included—and it comes in four colors to match your decor.
What else is included in the Echo launch? In addition to the Echo Pop speaker, Amazon also announced the Echo Show 5 ($90), the third generation of the small smart display device that features deeper base and clearer sound. The Echo Show 5 Kids ($100), a similar kid-friendly device, also got an update for its third generation design that includes improved audio, an improved screen for more comfortable use at night and more. And if that's not enough, the second generation Echo Buds ($80), which are equipped with features like noise cancellation and audio personalization, are also among the buzzy new items.
We know we can't wait to fill our own small spaces with the clear, bold sounds of our favorite summer jams (or, OK, maybe that latest true crime podcast) while asking Alexa to order us some snacks—and if this sounds like your ideal weekend afternoon, you might want to snag one for yourself.
