This 2-Second Trick Will Silence Notifications on Your Computer
Don’t worry: You can change it back later
It’s always right when you’re on the cusp of a great idea when--ping!--there’s a new email notification or chat bubble or calendar reminder interrupting your train of thought. Not anymore, thanks to this two-second tech trick.
What you do: Mac users, go to the upper right corner, find the three stacked lines, click on “Notifications” and toggle on “Do Not Disturb.” (You might have to delete all current notes to get it to pop up.)
What will happen: The notifications and annoying pop-up reminders you typically receive every four seconds will be muted for as long as you have it on.
If you want to see what you missed: That’s easy. Just click the notifications icon again when you’re ready to return to business as usual and you’ll see a running list of the most recent chats/texts you received.
And if you use a PC: Right click the task bar and select “Properties,” then under “Notification Area,” choose “Customize.” From there, you can adjust pop-up alerts accordingly.
Ahhh, can you feel your sanity returning? Amen to thought completion.
