Sunday the 5th is still moving quite fast, with Mars and Pluto working together as a team for better or worse. Pluto has a tendency to warp whatever it’s in contact with. This often means blowing small things up to epic proportions or minimizing things that really should be treated as more significant. It’s giving overreactions.

The reality check is likely to come Sunday night or Monday the 6th as the sun in sensitive Cancer collides with limiting Saturn in Aries. The intuitive path forward and the need to get things done fast are at odds with each other in ways that can feel like an engine stalling. Luckily, the moon in Aries has ways through if we can just be patient with the roadblocks and redirect.

Tuesday the 7th marks the day of the exact station of Neptune before it begins its annual retrograde which will run until December 12th. Neptune has made it solidly over the threshold into Aries, confusing us all about where best to focus our creativity, authenticity and belief in what’s real. Its retrograde harmonizes with Mercury’s, further separating us from deadlines and adherence to clock time.

The moon slips into Taurus on Wednesday the 8th, bringing at least one celestial body into a grounded Earth sign. It will be joined on Thursday the 9th when Venus enters earthy Virgo. In Virgo, Venus becomes a lover of detail and perfection. She’s obsessed with quality and a master at discernment. Only the best will do, not in the gaudy way of Leo, but the meticulous attention unique to Virgo.

On Friday morning, Venus meets with the south node, further shedding any adornment leftover from Leo and renouncing worldly pleasures. There’s a sacrificing tone to this aspect, a selfless surrender of old worn-out stories to the past. Take a box to the thrift store and rest into the waning crescent moon.

"Lately," Williams wrote in the caption, accompanied by an image carousel. Apparently, these truffles are very rare and loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that supercharge your skin with moisture.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly skincare brand that everyone from your toddler to your grandmother can use, Illiyoon is a safe bet. July’s dramatis personae:

The Sun: The sun begins the month in Cancer, where it runs into a problematic and limiting contact with Saturn around July 6th, and then connects with a retrograde Mercury to reset our internal compass on the 12th. On the 22nd, the sun moves into Leo, the sign of its rulership.  In Leo, it will engage in a series of contacts with the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) that integrate the major shifts happening in the collective around us. The sun's journey culminates at the end of the month on the 29th, when it encounters Jupiter, newly ingressed into the sign of Leo. The sun with Jupiter is joyful and triumphant, and together they set forth the promises and goals of Jupiter’s yearlong transit.

The Moon: For most of the month we are in Cancer season, the season of the moon. The moon offers emotional containment during a sensitive Cancer new moon on the 14th that seeks to integrate the lessons and experiences of the current Mercury retrograde. The month ends with an emphatic full moon in the sign of Aquarius on the 29th that connects with nearly every outer planet, seeking to knit together the broader changes in our collective experience.

Mercury: Mercury is retrograde until the 23rd. Mercury will retrograde through Cancer, tangling thought with emotions and the past with the present. It’s a deeply feeling transit but may offer solace from trying to process everything that is happening. As with all retrogrades, it promises reversals, and the first assumption or reaction to a situation is likely not the final outcome. The retrograde ends in a harmonious contact with Venus, promising a peaceful resolution to any tension that might have come up.

Venus: Venus moves from Leo to Virgo on the 9th. She smooths out the end of Mercury retrograde on the 24th but gets in a heated argument with Mars on the 29th during the full moon.

Mars: Mars and Uranus collide on the 4th, and this is a flashpoint. Sudden and decisive action often happens on both global and personal scales. The only way to prepare is to stay aware of things that might, well, explode. Uranus is notoriously hard to predict but likes to set off revolutions and rebellions and champion liberations.

Jupiter: Jupiter entered Leo on June 29th, so July is the opening paragraph to its new story. From the 19th -21st, Jupiter moves through a succession of aspects with the outer planets, taking input from them for the times ahead. Jupiter's contact with the sun on the 29th is the true beginning of their work together.

Saturn: Saturn is at a position that keeps it largely out of the fray this month—phew. It does station retrograde on the 26th, though, signaling a dampening of Saturnian themes until December 10th.

Uranus: After the big bang it sets off on the 4th, Uranus confronts Venus on the 13th but plays nicely with all the other planets throughout the rest of the month.

Neptune: Neptune stations retrograde on the 7th. It may be trying to sink into the background, but it’s in alignment with Pluto and Uranus all month and offers its iridescent vibes to many other planets as they pass through the beginnings of air or fire signs this month.

Pluto: Pluto is in the background with its hands in everything. Because of the way it aligns with the other outer planets, many faster-moving planets move through a succession of contact with all three, bringing transpersonal themes down to Earth. It does come into chilling contact with the sun on the 26th that can create power struggles of warring egos.

The Lunar Nodes: The nodes shift signs at the end of the month, a once every 18-month occurrence. The nodes move from the Pisces/Virgo axis to the Leo/Aquarius axis on the 26th, changing the collective process from a receptive stance to an active stance—just in time for the eclipses next month.

July is a hot one because there’s no lull in the action, but with a retrograde Mercury, it’s hard to keep up with it all. The best way to navigate is intuitively, with the knowledge that in time all the pieces will fall into place, and you’ll understand how it was moving you towards the next phase of your story.

In the video shared by Kensington Palace, Prince George and Princess Catherine can be seen visiting the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby. Kate Middleton and Prince William Made a Surprising Parenting Choice About Prince George’s Future

The photo shared to Instagram showed the Princess of Wales in hiking gear, poles strapped to her back and baseball cap peaking out from underneath her rain slicker, as the weather was gray and wet. Her sapphire engagement ring still shown as she gripped a monumental rock. In the caption, Princess Catherine revealed she had undertaken the National Three Peaks Challenge: "Not simply as a physical endeavor but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back. The Royal Marsden is a place that holds great meaning for me and whose care and expertise are life changing for so many people."

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves a combined 23-mile hike across the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales (Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon), with a total elevation of 10,052 feet. The goal is to complete the hikes in 24 hours. The Princess of Wales did the challenge in support of The Royal Marsden, where she underwent her own treatment.

"Through this challenge, I want to raise awareness for the deeper impact of serious illness and the importance of holistic healthcare," she wrote in the personally signed caption. "Every individual is different, and ensuring there is a whole person approach to care enables those living through cancer to manage the deeply personal challenge of diagnosis. Holistic therapies complement clinical pathways and support patients’ ability to maintain their wellbeing, resilience and quality of life during an exceptionally difficult time."

The solo image was later followed up with a moving video, in which Princess Catherine stood alone in nature, birdsong faintly audible as she addressed the camera, highlighting the work of The Royal Marsden and the people she'd met during the challenge who were currently battling the disease, and those who had successfully completed treatment. She also took a moment for some surprisingly personal—and moving—reflection.

"I'm so grateful to be here," she said, "to be strong enough to walk these hills."

Kate Middleton Makes Rare Comments About How Cancer Impacted Her Family

Confession: I have never owned Crocs. I have only worn them once in my life, borrowing a pair to run down a hill and photograph a mailbox that reminded me of Wes Anderson. As someone who ascribes to a fashion philosophy of dressing appropriately for an activity, I have never needed to wear Crocs. I don’t garden, go to the beach or partake in anything that would require a waterproof clog. And my mother, who raised five children, didn’t bother paying over $10 for children’s shoes we’d soon grow out of. But as an adult, I’ve found myself feeling…adventurous. Last year I wore Birkenstocks for the first time. I liked the sneaker version so much I bought a pair of sandals for house slippers. And it’s with this newfound open-mindedness that I started pondering Crocs. The brand’s launch of ballet-inspired styles sealed my fate, and that’s how I ended up with a pair of Crocs Classic Ballet Flats ($45). Here are my thoughts as a ballet flat aficionado who’s been wearing the style for the past 24 years.

Admittedly, when I read PureWow Editor-in-Chief Jillian Quint’s ode to her own Crocs, I was skeptical. But the fact that she, too, had gone from being a holdout to having her son beg her to return his pair she’d been “borrowing” was too convincing to ignore. 

“My kids have long espoused the Jibbitz-encrusted plastic hooves, which fall somewhere between gardening clog, water shoe and orthopedic prescription,” she wrote. “But then something happened: My son started to wear my shoe-size and I started just trying out his Crocs. First, I’d pop them on to bring out the trash. Then, to run to the car real quick. But suddenly, I was fully out-and-about in my fifth grader’s camo Crocs—strutting to the corner store like an E.R.-nurse-Taylor-Swift, popping over to a neighbor’s in a Jenni Kayne sweater and trousers.”

If that wasn’t enough of a sell (I love a good Jenni Kayne sweater myself), it was Quint’s glowing words when it came to her actual feet. As someone with self-described gnarly feet, my ears always perk up when a fellow sufferer raves about any sort of shoe. And thus she wrote:

“I won’t get into the indignities of my feet, but my lord! The toe-bed! The cushioning! The king-sized berth that allows each bunion and corn its own special pillow!” 

That was it. I was a goner. A few days later, a pair of Crocs arrived at my apartment. I was equal parts elated and horrified. (For the record, I barely wear sneakers. My uniform usually includes a pair of flats from Margaux, a New York-based, French inspired footwear brand.) When I met my friend at Penn Station a few days later for a Swiftie Pennsylvania getaway, I whispered, half-despair, half-hope, “I got Crocs!” The delivery, I guess, leaned so much towards despair that at first my friend thought I had said, “I got crabs!” Which was, at that point, perhaps not far off from the same feeling of bewilderment?

Bewilderment, as it turned out, was the right feeling. It was cognitive dissonance as my feet (flat, bunions and all) gave a little sigh of contentment. Then I looked down and thought, “Wow, actually these are kinda cute!” All while an alarm bell went off screaming “You’re wearing Crocs and you’re not gardening?!” In fact, this shoe is so OOC for me that even my roommates were in awe. Oh, Marissa, Isabelle told me you got Crocs?! was the refrain of the week. 

And, these suckers have proven themselves rather versatile. Jeans and a T-shirt? Crocs. Flouncy summer dress in the same color family (red, in my case)? Crocs somehow worked. Polka dot matching set? Crocs. An aesthetic choice, to be sure, but Crocs. While not something I thought I’d gravitate toward, these ballet flats have every quality I wish my more “work appropriate” shoes offered. Namely, that I’m not having a Cinderella-ugly-stepsisters moment trying to squeeze shoes onto my wide feet. Plus, the strap can be worn two ways, and I love a shoe that can give a two-for-one look. In one little flick of the wrist, the Crocs ballet flats can turn into a Mary Jane. 

So, yeah, consider me converted. The war of attrition has been won, and if that makes me the loser, I can say that at the very least, I am a comfortable, happy little loser. *Squeakily walks away in Crocs.*

Is This the Comfortable Dress Sandal of Summer?

School’s out for summer, as the song goes, but the minute the calendar flips to July, I take a deep breath and brace myself for the logistics ahead.

Because, yes, parents get to gleefully fist-pump the air after months of reminding our kids to do their homework, get to bed at a reasonable hour and find that missing library book. But for those of us with kids heading to summer camp, that temporary freedom is quickly replaced by work that can feel more taxing than the day-to-day routine of the school year: the mental load of summer camp.

In theory, summer camp is pure joy. Looking at my own son’s schedule, I see a week of soccer camp, a week of arts and sculpture camp and a few weeks at the local zoo. Pretty idyllic stuff.

But the devil is in the details—and, more specifically, the variety. Barring the chaos of Maycember, the color-coded summer calendar I maintain is far more complicated than anything I create during the predictable rhythm of the school year.

It’s not just the changing locations. It’s the medical forms that have to be completed and submitted. The daily sunscreen applications. The name labels affixed to every. single. item. There are portal logins to remember (because every camp seems to use a different platform), swimsuits and towels to wash nonstop, and theme days to prepare for. Crazy Hat Day, but make it sun-safe? Sure.

My kitchen table transforms from a place where we gather for family dinners into a rotating command center of camp-related necessities. If I can see the outfit changes, swim goggles, water bottles and pickup forms laid out in front of me, I have a fighting chance of staying organized. (And, for the record, I'm only talking about day camp. Parents preparing for sleepaway camp deserve their own gold stars.)

All of this is to say that what is supposed to be a childcare solution quickly morphs into something else entirely: a seasonal project-management job layered on top of the one parents already have. We’re trying to keep our kids engaged, enriched and happily occupied while also managing work, household responsibilities and the small matter of paying the bills.

Of course, I’ll rise to the occasion. I always do! Parents are remarkably good at absorbing invisible labor and making it look effortless—even fun. But every summer, as I shuffle forms, sort camp T-shirts, and restock sunscreen I’m reminded that even the most carefree season of the year can be quite the behind-the-scenes production.

This dress has practically taken over my feed, with influencers and friends donning the chic stunner. I obviously had to try it once I saw it was in my size, and boy, did it not disappoint. Between capelets in the winter and opera-core trending earlier this year, it only makes sense that this piece would stand the test of time with its timeless air and classy look. The silk dress is ultra-lightweight and rather basic, so while it’s nothing truly special on its own, it looks breathtaking when paired with the sheer cape—and I do appreciate its adjustable straps. Once I put the cape on, I was sold, feeling like a modern-day Belle and praying I had a black-tie occasion to attend soon. With the cowl neckline, asymmetrical hem, and button closure on the top of one shoulder, I almost wished I could purchase the cape separately because it was really that special.

A few years ago, I splurged on an Anine Bing gown very similar to Reformation’s Soleia Dress, which I ultimately had to return due to poor construction. Fast-forward to today, and the déjà vu is in full effect, thanks to its refined slip style and scoop neckline, which exude class. While it isn’t made from 100 percent silk, like the Anine Bing piece, it does boast a slim fit and shiny fabric that looks like a tall glass of water on the body. Customers note that it runs slightly large, and I’d have to agree; however, it doesn’t have a zipper to slip in and out of, so do note that you do want it to fit loosely enough so it's easy to pull off over your head.

One of the many tough realities of my job is that I always end up wanting to walk away with one (or multiple!) of the pieces I try on. Today, that was the Delanie dress. Perhaps it was the adjustable, buttoned halter neck that made me realize how well-constructed it was. Or maybe it was the ties at the back of the waistband, which cinched it in for a bespoke fit, that made me realize how darling it was. On second thought, it might have been the drama of the open back and the ‘70s-inspired print, which felt perfect for summertime. (OK, maybe it was a combination of everything!) Basically, it was an easy purchase to round out my sundress collection. I even appreciated that I could size up to a 6 (the 4 was sold out in the store), and it still fit me well.

Summer celebrations and red linen dresses go together like bread and butter. It’s breezy, easy and stylish, to boot. It also features a keyhole and a zipper closure, so there won’t be any struggle getting this fiery dress on or off.

Cute and comfortable, this girl-next-door, rose-printed V-neck dress stole my heart as soon as I zipped it up. From the puff sleeves to the ruching at the bust, every detail was well thought out. Even with my broad shoulders, I didn’t find the sleeves overwhelming, unlike some designs—in fact, I thought the deep V-neck provided a nice contrast that kept the eyes from being drawn to the shoulders. And the ruching does wonders for my fellow small-chested folks.

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a denim number. Whether it’s a pair of jeans, a jacket or a dress like this darling piece, I’m all for it. And while you might think of non-stretch, rigid fabric when you think of denim, that’s not the case here. The denim twill, though non-stretch, is complemented by a stretchy, elastic back that’ll provide enough breathing room to keep you comfortable all day and night long. Couple that with the pleated midi skirt and drop-waist bodice, and you have the perfect sundress.

Behold: a little black dress I had zero high hopes for, yet one that certainly exceeded my expectations. Netflix’s New #1 Show Is a Crime Thriller Everyone Can Finally Agree on

AARP, yes, the nonprofit best known for advocating for older adults, recently released its list of the 25 hottest Gen X actors. And taking the number one spot is none other than Noah Wyle. The actor currently stars in HBO Max’s The Pitt, but for a lot of fans, he will always be Dr. John Carter from ER, one of the most iconic medical dramas of all time and basically a defining TV role of the late ‘90s and early 2000s.

If you were watching TV during that era, there is a good chance Noah Wyle is already permanently filed in your brain as “main character energy in scrubs.” And clearly, AARP agrees.

At the Movies for Grownups Awards in January, the 55-year-old reflected on aging in Hollywood with a surprisingly grounded take, saying, “I feel like I’ve earned every gray hair and every wrinkle, and each one is a story, and stories are usually pretty good.”

Dave Franco Is Named 2025's Sexiest Cat Dad Alive—and I'm Confused

As of this writing, I feel committed to the “wait until 8th” movement; my kids will not get smartphones until 8th grade at the earliest. Still, as they neared the end of elementary school, it became clear to my husband and me that they needed something, a way to be in touch while they were out and about exploring the neighborhood on their own.  

Starting in 3rd and 4th grades, respectively, they each got a Fitbit Ace LTE watch, which worked well for our family as a way for them to call and text us (and only us) and for me to track their whereabouts. But as my son finished 5th grade, he campaigned hard for a device that would allow him to communicate with friends as well. We weren’t ready for the full access of an Apple Watch, so settled on a Bark Watch, which felt like a nice mid-point between strict guardrails and unfettered internet access. Here’s what both he and I thought.

What Is a Bark Watch?

The Bark is a smartwatch for kids that allows communication and independence with parental controls built into its very framework. You use it as you would any smartwatch—inputting phone numbers for contacts and calling and texting directly from the face—but there are no games, social media or browsers, and all contacts need to be approved by you (the parent) using the home app. Additionally, like the Bark Phone, it uses AI technology to screen your child’s usage and flag (to you) any concerning content. (More on that below).

The Bark Watch costs $170 up front, and then you pay $15/month to keep it activated.

Setting Up the Bark Watch

In fairness, my experience was a little abnormal because I was given a review watch with different set-up instructions than one you’d buy. That said, the set-up is pretty straightforward, provided you follow instructions: You’re given a phone number (or can import one your kid already uses) and connect the physical device to a Bark home app on your phone. From the home app, you create a profile for your child and—here’s the cool part—tell it what you want it to monitor. (Options include anxiety, bullying, drug/alcohol-related content and sexual content.) You can also set up parameters around usage—like a scheduled “bedtime” for the watch to become inaccessible or you can turn off the camera function if you’d rather your child not have access. (Mine uses his exclusively to send photos of his friend’s kittens.)

From there, you input phone numbers for approved contacts; unless a number is approved by you, that person cannot call or text your child. I like this as a safeguard, but the reality is that my kid is constantly calling me from the playground asking if I can input so-and-so’s phone number immediately. I don’t mind this; he finds it annoying.

The watch charges quickly using a cord, and the charge has always lasted us the entire day.

How is the Bark Watch Different from Other Kids’ Smartwatches?

The big difference here is that the Bark gives your child more autonomy than a Fitbit Ace but less unfettered social media and internet access than an Apple Watch. (This makes it similar to the Gizmo.) Unlike a Fitbit, your child can contact their (pre-approved) friends, but unlike an Apple Watch, they cannot join group chats (a fact my son hates and I like).

Another big difference is that most other watches allow you, the parent, to see your child’s call logs and text exchanges. The Bark operates under the assumption that kids should have some modicum of privacy, and the AI software can do the work of monitoring and alerting you of troublesome behaviors, which is does in real time. I totally respect this stance, but the fact remains that I still want to read my child’s texts, which I do, by scanning the watch itself after he goes to bed. For the record, the app has never flagged any content to me as concerning, which squares with the supremely boring texts I see when I snoop.

At the end of each week, the Bark sends me a rundown of his activity (He had 12 positive interactions with Noah B, he received a photo from Grandpa) and offers up some rather cringe-inducing thought-starters for things I could discuss with him: “I love that you check in with us during the day! What’s usually on your mind when you message me or Dad?”

Who is the Bark Watch For?

In my opinion, the Bark is perfect for kids in those late elementary or early middle school years who aren’t quite ready for either a smartphone or an Apple watch but need a way to communicate with each other and with their parents. I like that it’s easy to use (you can text/call your kid straight from your phone’s contacts) and has built-in guardrails to prevent screen addiction and dodgy behavior. I wish I could read my child’s texts directly and I don’t particularly need the insights it sends. But all in all, it’s kinda perfect for this stage in our digital life.

“Happy Father's Day to the best there is.. chief child entertainer for besties wedding too,” wrote the royal, 36. “The boys couldn't ask for a better Dada. Xxxx.” Chief child entertainer does sound like a pretty great 'title.'

The sweet post also comes shortly after Eugenie revealed she and Jack are expecting baby number three. She announced the news on Instagram with a tender photo of August and Ernest holding up a sonogram of their future sibling.

“Baby Brooksbank due 2026,” she captioned the post.

The royal family also shared the announcement on their official Instagram account, posting the same image of the boys with the ultrasound. Their caption read, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.”

Zendaya's Unexpected (and Comfortable) Shoe Choice Had My Jaw on the Floor

School’s out for summer—but that doesn’t mean the drop-offs cease to exist. They just get more logistically complicated. (There’s soccer camp this week…arts and crafts the next…and, remind me, are we doing anything for the week of the 4^th or is everybody just running wild?)

As temps soar, my sartorial priorities are based on two things: Comfort and movement. I want styles that won’t look gross if I sweat my way through them, as well as fabrics that allow even the slightest breeze to waft through. Oh yeah. And I also want to look kinda, sorta cool. This is Brooklyn, after all.

‘Feral Kid Summers’ Are Trending—Just Not for Working Parents

So when the chance to see the buzzy new Supergirl with my 12-year-old Chihuahua-mix arose, courtesy of Milk-Bone, I jumped at the opportunity. We attended a rooftop screening in midtown Manhattan, and I assumed Bubbie would sleep on my lap or under my chair as the film played. And while that did happen, I was not prepared for how his presence would affect my review of the film.

First of all, I loved the movie. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's a lot of fun and is full of action and humor. Milly Alcock (who you may recognize from House of the Dragon and Sirens) is really great as the title character. Though I had my doubts, she excellently balances Supergirl's train-wreck tendencies with her superhero responsibilities. I have no doubt she'll be back for more films in the franchise—and I can't wait.

The plot, like most comic book movies, pits our hero against a super bad guy, with lovable sidekicks, intense action sequences and lighthearted moments along the way. Jason Momoa makes a particularly enjoyable appearance as an antihero out to crush the bad guys for his own set of dumb personal reasons. And, of course, we get plenty of Krypto (aka Superdog). And it's Krypto's involvement in the film—and more importantly in a giant plot point—that changed the film for me.

Without giving away spoilers, an event involving Krypto acts as the catalyst for Supergirl to pursue the Big Bad (a kinda lame Krem of the Yellow Hills) across the universe for the rest of the movie. This sort of feels like a lackluster motivation... Her dog? She's out to get one of the most evil and powerful characters ever because of her dog?

Enter Bubbie.

As I watched with Bubbie on my lap (yes, he got into the popcorn and, yes, I called him a "bad boy" even though he's a very good boy), I fully got Supergirl's motivation. Her love for her loyal companion knows no bounds. Same, Supergirl.

Like her, there is little I wouldn't do for my dog. And, smartly, the film sets up their close relationship right from the get-go. The opening sequence features an owner-pet montage that I couldn't help but smile at (Bubbie and I have a similar relationship, minus the outer space and super power parts). We even get a glimpse of how the duo first met.

With this bond on full display, and with my own pup sitting with me, it was impossible not to understand why Supergirl decides to traverse the galaxy.

Would I have enjoyed the movie without Bubbie? Sure. But would I have gotten Supergirl without Bubbie there? Let's just say I'll be bringing Bubbie with me to the inevitable sequel.

There was a time when suffering for fashion was part of the deal. Remember the early aughts? Great pants were supposed to be rigid. In other words, it’s deeply refreshing to see that women are now opting for fluid, forgiving fabrics that deliver that same fashion-forward silhouette (wide-leg, slouchy and sometimes even low-rise)...just without the punishment.

To be clear, comfy pull-on trousers aren’t new. NY women have been wearing silky trousers and pull-on crepe styles for years. What is new is the terminology. Thanks to brands like Reformation, Vince and The Row, the category has evolved from comfortable pants into a legitimate style flex. Soft pants are not the same as the plaid flannel pajama bottoms you wear to binge-watch Netflix with the girls. The key difference comes down to fabrication and styling. Pajama pants are designed for sleeping. Fluid pants are designed to move like loungewear while still looking decent. They’re typically made from fabrics like jersey, cupro, satin, lightweight crepe, nylon and even soft linen. You wear them on flights, to meetings or to dinner and never once think about your waistband.

They’re also a favorite among the celebrity style set. In January, Hailey Bieber was spotted in slouchy drawstring trousers paired with a fitted baby tee and an oversized leather jacket. Then earlier this month, she wore black low-rise slim trousers by Toteme. Kendall Jenner has also been leaning into softer silhouettes. In February while in Milan, she wore billowy wide-leg trousers in crepe, styled with simple sandals. By May, she was photographed once again in relaxed trousers. Even model Joan Smalls has embraced silky, drapey slacks for coffee runs and errands, often styling them with structured handbags and sunglasses. And, of course, we can't forget Mandy Moore's comfort era.

Of course, this celebrity embrace didn’t happen overnight. The groundwork was laid 15 years ago by designers and tastemakers who adored slouchy looks. No single designer invented soft pants, but celebs like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen deserve a lot of credit for making ultra-roomy chinos popular. Even Lululemon—while not fashion in the traditional sense—helped blur the line between workwear and comfortwear with commuter pants that felt dope enough to wear beyond the gym.

How to Style Soft Pants

Naturally uber relaxed trousers bring volume and movement, so pairing them with something structured helps keep the outfit balanced. A fitted tank, crisp button-down or oversized blazer instantly sharpens the look. Bear in mind, the non-office-friendly version of soft pants is significantly less restrictive than traditional trousers. These styles often come in crepe, Japanese twill or structured jersey with clean waistbands. Aritzia remains one of the best destinations for this category, especially for its effortless trouser line and draped tailoring. COS also excels here, with elevated basics. Hard pants had a good run. But in 2026, comfort and polish are no longer mutually exclusive, and soft pants give us both.

Hilton isn't shy about putting her kids in the spotlight, and they make regular appearances on her social media, doing everything from cooking to spending beach days together. So it was only natural that the toddlers would accompany their mom to the U.S./Turkey World Cup match at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Hilton served as Stadium Captain, an honor that came with the responsibility of placing the official match ball on the pitch. The reality star strutted onto the grass, a toddler in each hand. Stepping into such legendary stilettos is quite a task, but of Minetree, Witherspoon said, "When I saw [her] in her [audition tape], I was absolutely—it stopped me. It took my breath away. She understood—I'm gonna cry again—she's just such an incredible person. She had gone into her backyard with her mom and recreated the whole Harvard admissions video...On top of being this incredibly disciplined, talented young woman, she has such a beautiful heart."

Reese Witherspoon Was Told Never to Take This Job (Try Not to Eyeroll)

In the meantime, star Madelyn Cline (who plays Sarah Cameron) is dishing about the upcoming season, saying goodbye to her character and what's next for her. PureWow sat down with Madelyn, who is currently partnering with Sanpellegrino CIAO! Limoncello, the latest addition to the iconic line of sparkling waters, to hear what she had to say about Outer Banks and her partnership.

Cline's character is part of a wealthy family who joins a group of working-class teens in a high-stakes treasure hunt. No spoilers here, but as I mentioned, there was a big twist at the end of season four. Asked for her reaction when she first read that finale script, Cline was quite candid: "Nothing surprises me anymore."

She continued, "Whenever we would get new scripts, we would all read them at the same time, and I would always brace myself because I'm like, 'what's next?' These kids have insane luck or lack thereof sometimes. Sometimes my first question is, 'how are we going to shoot this?' But nothing, nothing surprises me anymore."

But Cline confessed that it isn't just her personal opinion that she considers—she's always thinking about the show's many fans as well. "My first reaction is just, 'what are the fans going to think? How are they going to react to it?' I always do enjoy seeing or hearing people's reactions once the season comes out. Sometimes it's different than what I think they might feel, and sometimes it's also what we felt when we first read it. But I love that our writers have always kept everyone on their toes."

As for what she'll miss most about working on Outer Banks? Cline said, "I think just coming home. It felt like I was always coming home to it. It was a constant in my life for seven years, so there was always a comfort to it, and also a comfort to knowing Sarah Cameron so well and living with her for seven years. So I'm going to miss that."

Things got more personal from there. "This was pretty much the greater part of my 20s. When I think of these years of my life, Outer Banks is the biggest part of it. I'll miss it. I have a lot of gratitude, but I think everyone is happy with the way we've told the story. And there's so much respect for knowing when it's time to close the book."

Next up for Cline? She's ready to relax and embrace her inner summer girl (honestly, same). "I'm excited about summer. I'm excited to be a summer girl." Naturally, her Sanpellegrino CIAO! Limoncello partnership fits in well with this. "I've been a long time lover and fan. It is a staple...it embodies summer and an Amalfi Coast vibe so well for wherever you are."

Its unassuming profile makes it the definition of a disappearing shoe, and also manages to be a lot more comfortable than the stylist-recommended brand. Below, my thoughts.

Margaux

I evaluated the shoe on the PW100 for five attributes: quality, versatility, comfort, durability and value, for a total score out of 100 points. Over the past couple of months, I’ve worn them to professional and formal social events, including a four-hour stint in which I barely sat down.

The Pros

Given that The Cleo qualifies as a “barely there” shoe, it wasn’t difficult to style with any of my outfits. I wore it with a dressy-casual sundress for a work breakfast, then slipped it on again with an ‘80s-inspired satin gown for a museum’s garden party. At every turn the shoes felt elegant, but they weren’t screaming for attention. 

I love leather shoes, but I hate the break-in period. It’s always a little brutal, with one blister or two as collateral damage. The Cleo surprised me with its buttery leather that was so soft it was almost slippery. At both the ankle and the metatarsal, I was blister- and pain-free, even after walking/standing in the shoes for four hours.

I love a chunky kitten heel, but it often tends to feel casual. I love Margaux’s heels, which, unless they’re platforms, tend to fall in the 2- to 2.5-inch range. The Cleo sits at 2.5 inches and is New York-friendly. I felt stable navigating the endless subway stairs, hopping in and out of cars and tromping across a museum lawn in them. 

The Cons

Again, the selling point of The Cleo is its inconspicuous straps, but for stability, I think they could have been a smidge thicker. There were a couple instances when I thought the shoe might slip off my foot, and having a strap that was a little wider would have fixed that. 

I learned something new while researching for this review: straps can help distribute the weight over the shoe. Because The Cleo’s straps are a little skimpy, I could definitely feel the effects of that weight distribution. The night of the garden party I attended, I barely sat down, and at the end of the night my feet were tired, and a little sore. In contrast, a similar, now discontinued pair of 25-inch Margaux heels I own with thicker straps are much more comfortable, even with the same amount of standing. On occasions where it was a more even balance between sitting, standing and walking, the Cleo performed great. But for marathon stretches on your feet, you might feel a little tired. 

The Bottom Line

The Cleo is great for both formal events and occasions where you want to be a little more dressed up. I’d recommend it for times when you know you won’t be 100 percent on your feet the whole time. (That being said, it’s a great wedding guest shoe.) I love how dainty it is, while still having a stable block heel, and the way I can style it with anything. The next time I have a night out, these will be on my feet.

In a very uncharacteristic move, Zendaya logged onto social media twice this week to share snippets from the tour. In the latest update, she's sitting in a London town car, looking over her shoulder. Her micro-bob is perfectly arranged. The actress wears vintage John Galliano from the designer's SS97 ready-to-wear collection. The dress's milky, otherworldly pattern is a smattering of constellations scattered to the wind on the ruffles of the asymmetric skirt. From the front, it seems like a regular spaghetti strap, but when the actress turns around, the dress dips into a jaw-dropping V that nearly reaches her tailbone.

In an on-theme twist—and original to Galliano's design—the backless area of the dress did not go unembellished. Instead, a delicate chain created a spider's web that draped across Zendaya's shoulders and her back, which she highlighted in an Instagram post.

The fourth installment in the Tom Holland-led franchise picks up where the last movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, left off. It’s Official: Tom Holland Just Confirmed His Wedding to Zendaya Already Happened

June 2026 was quite a month for new and returning TV shows—but not all of them were stellar.

The Cape Fear reboot felt overly dramatic and underwhelming. The Four Seasons season two was cute (and I'm happy for them that they got renewed for season three), but it wasn't nearly as bingable as the first iteration. And The Season (a cross between Crazy Rich Asians and Succession) felt promising, but was ultimately not very strong.

Thankfully though, June delivered four great shows as well. One was super buzzy (Carmy is back for one last hurrah), one shot to the top of Netflix's top 10 list (thanks in part to my favorite Severance star) and the other two flew way under the radar.

From The Bear season five to Sugar season two, here are the four best shows of June, hands-down.

1. The Bear

It's the end of an era for Carmy and company, as The Bear just hit Hulu with its fifth and final season. All eight episodes of this solid send-off are already available to binge—but I recommend pacing yourself, since this is all you're going to get from Jeremy Allen White and his uber-talented co-stars. Things pick up right after the chaos of the season four finale, with Carmy stepping away from the food industry. I'm seriously going to miss this one.

2. I Will Find You

This new thriller went from "I'll give one episode a shot" to "binge-o-rama" in seconds for me. Sam Worthington plays a man accused of killing his son—but he just found out his son may be alive after all. Enter Britt Lower (who proved she's a star with or without Lumon), Milo Ventimiglia (who proved he and his career can outlive even the deadliest of slow cookers) and Madeline Stowe (who proved she neither ages nor disappoints as an icy villain). Will the good guys solve this mystery in the face of a massive conspiracy? No spoilers here!

3. Alice and Steve

I'm betting you haven't heard of this Hulu comedy, but I'm promising you'll love it. Two BFFs would do anything for one another. But their close relationship turns sour when one of them (Steve) sleeps with—and starts dating—the daughter of the other (Alice). This fun new series brings major laughs, and the dynamic between the two stars, Jemaine Clement (who I've been obsessed with since Flight of the Conchords) and Nicola Walker, is incredible to watch. 10/10 I'd recommend.

4. Sugar

Despite this show boasting major star-power—Colin Farrell, Amy Ryan—it flew far under my radar for season one. But now it's back with a sophomore season, and I'm fully invested. Farrell (sans Penguin prosthetics) plays a private investigator in L.A., but he hides a massive sci-fi secret. The neo-noir style is super fun, making the whole series feel like an old time-y detective show. Season two starts off answering some of our lingering questions and, though it's a slow burn, loops us into two huge cases this P.I. is desperate to solve.

6 Shows That Just Got Renewed (Plus, 1 Fan-Favorite That Was Tragically Canceled)

Right away, Sunday kicks off a huge shift with Mars moving into Gemini. Mars is key to making decisions and taking action, and in Gemini its FOMO is so bad it compels us to do and choose everything. Of course, this creates a frenetic and chaotic energy as things go a little haywire.

In Gemini, Mars takes guidance from Mercury. Mercury will station retrograde on Monday the 29th, in the sign of Cancer, further confusing both mercurial and martial matters. Mercury’s retrograde in Cancer will focus on topics of family, home, memory, nostalgia and grief. Mars, in turn, will try to respond to these things, but while Mercury is retrograde until July 23, the path will not be straightforward.

The second thing that happens on the 29th is the full moon in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign of putting feelings aside to fry bigger fish, but this year the moon might be torn between the effort required and the time allotted. The full moon tangles with both Neptune and Saturn, with the outcome looking confusing and frustrating. This is not the moment to rush things, even though full moons generally bring strong emotions to the forefront.

The final headline of Monday (my god, what a Monday!) is Jupiter moving into Leo. Jupiter stays in each sign for a year, so its annual shift from one to another is always significant. Jupiter is the planet of abundance, bringing an increase of opportunities and attention wherever it moves. In regal Leo, Jupiter supports leaders, bold takes, performers and creatives. It is joyful and optimistic—but can also come off as arrogant.

The week will largely be about understanding and feeling all the events from Sunday and Monday, while building towards one of the year’s biggest headlines that reaches its peak on Saturday.

Over the holiday weekend, Mars will run into Uranus in Gemini. Mars can be explosive, and Uranus is jet fuel. These two coming into contact means big surprises, sudden actions and sometimes explosive changes. The fireworks will no doubt be spectacular.

But there's a whole world of options that are crisp and refreshing, even on the most blazing days of July and August. This is a great one-pot meal—serve it with a simple, crisp green salad if you want more veg."

Paris Hilton's kids always crack me up. They often appear in their mom's social media feed getting up to all sorts of antics. Some days it's taking over the dog house (which, honestly, is basically their perfect size). Other days they're in the kitchen with Hilton. This time around, the trio baked a heart-shaped cake. When it came time to decorate, Phoenix (3) and London (2) showed some serious—and seriously hilarious—chops.

"Baking sweet memories with my little ones," Hilton wrote. "There’s nothing I love more than time in the kitchen with my #CutesieCrew, especially when we’re making something pink, pretty and delicious."

The family used Hilton's favorite pink, eponymous bakeware, which happens to be on sale for Amazon Prime Day. Spotted in the video were her "That's Hot" oven mitts ($15; $11), pink silicone cooking utensils ($40; $30) and heart-shaped ramekins ($18; $14).

Phoenix expertly removed the heart-shaped bundt cake from its pan, saying "I made a heart!" When it came time to decorate, he exclaimed, "Let's do it! Let's cook!" while his sister rolled up her sleeves with determination. Hilton brought over a piping bag full of Barbie pink icing, and both kids proceeded to squeeze the bag with abandon. I couldn't help but chuckle as I watched golf-ball sized gobs of icing hit the cake.

What I found even funnier was that their mom's technique wasn't much more refined; Hilton also gave the bag a giant squeeze and let the frosting ooze out onto preexisting mounds. They then piled on several different types of sprinkles and topped the creation with a pink plastic butterfly. Before tucking into their creation, Phoenix needed one more go-round with the spatula, patting the icing so that the swirled pattern turned spiky. While a sure recipe for a sugar crash out, it was also probably delicious. Can we all get a slice?

The road to Labor Day is littered with attempts to stay cool: dollar store fans, overpriced theme park misters that broke halfway through the day, ice pops that left sticky trails of cherry juice between your fingers. So when the latest spate of cooling gadgets hit the market this year, I was skeptical. It seemed like the Erewhon-ification of handheld fans: Like $20, influencer-driven smoothies, these devices (because they weren’tjust fans) were all over TikTok and cost in the triple digits. And the newcomer arguably getting the most buzz? The Shark ChillPill.

Could a personal fan possibly be worth $150? Or even $130—as it’s currently on sale for Amazon Prime Day?

If you’re spending a lot of time outdoors this summer, yes. It very well could be.

Ever since my husband took one on a trip to Arizona, where the temperatures peaked at 114 degrees each day, he’s become a devotee, taking it with him on every run and outing since. Intrigued, I started borrowing it, and I see why people are raving about it being a summertime must-have.

What Is the Shark ChillPill, Anyway?

Billed as a three-in-one device, the ChillPill is a ten-speed fan, a mister and cooling plate. But to call it that actually undersells it. The fan is intensely powerful—stronger than your typical oscillating fan (and, at its top speeds, has the noise levels to back that up), and the mister provides a cool blast of “dry-touch” mist, which seemed gimmicky until I tried it. It’s an ultra-fine mist that gently cools you but doesn’t leave you feeling damp or soggy. I could run it next to my laptop without fear of damage.

And the cooling plate? I wasn’t even sure what that was at first. It’s a metal topper you twist onto the gadget, in place of the fan/mister, that can drop your skin temperature by up to 16 degrees F, according to the brand. If you’ve ever put a spoon in the freezer then touched it against your skin, it’s a lot like that—only you get that sensation as soon as the device powers up, no freezing or refrigeration necessary. That makes it great for taming hot flashes or moments when you start to feel overheated, but I found a whole new reason to love it: gently dabbing it under and around my eyes. I struggle with perpetually dry, achy (and sometimes puffy) undereyes, and I’ve tried just about every hydrogel patch and cream under the sun to combat it. The ChillPill provided even better relief in an instant. Now I find myself reaching for it on the daily.

That is, when I can snag it from my husband. He takes it on daily runs, sticking it in a chest pocket so it can mist or fan him on scorching days. And when he’s not outdoors, he’ll often swivel the base, so it stands up on his desk, fanning him as he works.

What Makes It So Special?

Honestly, it’s shocking how powerful it is, given its handheld size. Even more surprising is its battery life, which can run up to 11 hours on low.

“It’s very intuitive to use, and there’s a simple safety switch so it doesn’t go off when you don’t want it to, making it easy to travel with,” my husband adds. His two gripes, after a few months’ use: at the highest speed, it gets a bit loud for normal conversation “though it did invite a lot of fun discussions, since people got curious about it,” and that he wishes the battery signal—which lights up green, yellow or red—offered a bit more insight into how much time, exactly, you had left before it was drained.

Those are pretty minor cons though, especially given how effective this fan is. It outperforms any other fan or mister I’ve ever tried by a long shot. (As it should, given that it costs roughly three times as much as the typical ones I’ve tried.)

While it is pricey, its quality and durability—and oh, that cooling plate for my eyes!—made the investment seem worthwhile (especially as we divide our time between the concrete jungle of New York, the dry heat of Arizona and the swampy Gulf coast of Florida). And right now, with it being discounted for Prime Day (which runs from June 23 through 26, BTW), that price feels even more reasonable as we creep into July.

Yes, there are a lot of streaming services, and, yes, there's a lot of buzz around the latest releases. But just because something's trending or on lists of most-viewed titles doesn't mean it's always worth a watch.

The month of May gave us five must-watch shows—but June 2026 also delivered a ton of great new content (even if one of my favorites did get canceled).

Allow me, an entertainment editor, to help you parse through it all with shows and movies that are actually worth watching this week. I'm talking buzzy movies like Supergirl, final seasons of hit shows like The Bear and new thrillers like Strung. Enjoy the best selections (recommended by yours truly) on Netflix, Prime Video, in theaters and more.

From In the Hand of Dante to Little Brother, here's what to watch this weekend.

1. The Bear

• Rating: TV-MA
• Number of seasons: 5

The fifth and final season is finally here—and all eight episodes hit Hulu on June 25. The kitchen was left in chaos at the end of season four, and now, things are picking up right where they left off (with Carmy out of the food biz "for good"). Star Jamie Lee Curtis posted about the send-off on IG this week, saying "My baby bear [Jeremy Allen White] was such a beautiful scene partner. This last season, this last service is a perfect way to end the story of the Bearzatto family and friends."

2. Supergirl

• Rating: PG-13
• Runtime: 108 minutes

Milly Alcock went from "who is that?" to "she's in literally everything" (House of the Dragon, Sirens, Supergirl) in practically no time. This new role was teased at the end of 2025's Superman, and anticipation and expectations are super high. Jason Momoa and Krypto the Superdog co-star in the one film of the year I'll definitely be watching in IMAX.

3. In the Hand of Dante

• Runtime: 155 minutes

It's like your favorite mob movie—only with a cerebral twist and a cast stocked with A-list stars. The film revolves around Beef season two actor Oscar Isaac, but also features an ensemble cast including Al Pacino, Gal Gadot, Martin Scorsese (who I'm so excited to see act again after he crushed his cameo in The Studio), Gerard Butler, Jason Momoa (in his second appearance on this list) and White Lotus standout Sabrina Impacciatore. Look, if it's good enough for Scorsese...

4. Strung

• Rating: TV-MA
• Number of seasons: 119 minutes

Ooooh, this Chloe Bailey thriller looks so gooood. Bailey plays a genius violin tutor who starts working for a rich family...who seem to be hiding some major secrets. And if you need just one more reason to watch, the film (which should probably be viewed with the lights on) also stars Emily in Paris hunk Lucien Laviscount.

5. Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness

• Rating: N/A
• Number of seasons: 1

Larry David is back (though I'm not sure he really went anywhere) with a new sketch comedy limited series on HBO. The Seinfeld creator's latest show has a historical skew, but I certainly use the word "historical" loosely. And if the trailer is any indication, we're in for a slew of fun celeb appearances, including from Jerry Seinfeld himself.

6. The Invite

• Rating: R
• Runtime: 107 minutes

Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penélope Cruz and Ed Norton star in this marriage comedy about two very different couples at a dinner party together. In addition to having a killer cast, the film is directed by Wilde and comes to us from A24 (who brought us Marty Supreme, The Drama, Babygirl and countless other incredible films).

7. Lucky Strike

It's a high-stakes World War II thriller starring Clint Eastwood's son, Scott. A U.S. soldier is injured and trapped behind enemy lines, but can he make it out alive as the Nazi Army advances? (I'm guessing yes cause it's a movie, but I'll be seated to find out for sure.)

8. Little Brother

• Rating: R
• Runtime: 102 minutes

John Cena plays a realtor with a perfect life. But things get thrown into chaos when his "little brother" shows up. Netflix describes the comedy as "raunchy" and "irreverent" (I've been called worse), but at least it also stars White Lotus standout Michelle Monaghan to keep it somewhat grounded in reality.

9. Chris & Martina: The Final Set

• Rating: TV-MA
• Runtime: 93 minutes

Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova dominated women's tennis for decades, paving the way for star athletes like Serena and Venus Williams. Now, this surprisingly candid documentary delves into their lives on and off the court—as well as their undeniable friendship.

10. The Real Housewives of Rhode Island Reunion

• Rating: TV-14
• Number of seasons: 1

As someone who is so far behind on the Housewives franchises that I'd nearly given up on ever being able to tackle them, I was thrilled that there was a new addition where I could start at the ground level—and Rhode Island is a doozy. Not only are the women fab (and drama prone), but now we've arrived at the finale where we are about to get fireworks.

11. Echo Valley

• Rating: R
• Runtime: 104 minutes

Is this Sydney Sweeney-Julianne Moore thriller new? Hardly, but it is the number one film on Apple TV right now. A woman's drug-addicted daughter shows up covered in blood—and this mother must decide how to help her and how far she'll go to do so...

12. The World Cup

• Rating: N/A
• Number of seasons: N/A

As if Taylor Swift taking over football and then Taylor Swift taking over basketball weren't enough, we've got a new sport on the scene (no one let Taylor buy tickets, please!). The FIFA Men's World Cup kicked off (literally) in North America earlier this month, and fans from around the world are watching and rooting for their country. Go America!

13. Stepfather

• Rating: R
• Runtime: 95 minutes

Taye Diggs and Tamar Braxton star in this breezy 95-minute thriller about, well, a deranged stepfather who is hiding a very deadly secret. Sounds just like the type of Father's Day movie we'll all want to gather round and watch year after year (lol).

14. Million Dollar Nannies

• Rating: TV-MA
• Number of seasons: 1

While I initially thought this was an SNL parody of a reality show, it is, in fact, a real series. An elite group of nannies travels to Ibiza to watch the children of people with large bank accounts. Why you'd ever bring children to Ibiza I'll never know...but this silly concept looks surprisingly bingable.

15. The Death of Robin Hood

• Rating: R
• Runtime: 123 minutes

In this star-studded movie, Robin Hood is older, he's injured and he's played by Broadway song-and-dance man Hugh Jackman. This is much darker than the tale we're all used to, with our Music Man-Robin Hood having a violent and deadly past. Jackman stars alongside everyone's favorite TV serial killer Jodie Comer and everyone's least favorite movie and TV clown Bill Skarsgård.

3 Shows That Were Just Canceled (& 3 More That Are Ending Unexpectedly)

"Honors at Windsor," the caption read. Recognizing individuals whose dedication and service have made a lasting difference across communities, public life and beyond."

The video shows Prince William regally walking solo into the Grand Reception Room at Windsor Castle, his jacket bedecked with aiguillettes. He is then filmed spending time with each recipient, chatting with them as their families look on proudly. One clip also shows a man being knighted by the Prince as the former kneels on a crimson red knighting stool.

The Prince of Wales will presumably be busy as he heads back into Climate Action Week, taking place right now in London through June 28. The Earthshot Prize, which he founded in 2020, has been playing a major role in the conference. Robert Irwin, an ambassador for the organization, hosted The Earthshot Prize Impact Assembly. During the event, he highlighted a major win. In 2024, the High Ambition Coalition was awarded a £1 million ($1.3 million) grant as the winner of "The Earthshot Prize to Revive our Oceans." The organization's director, Rita el Zaghloul, shared at the assembly that the funding helped establish Ghana's first Marine Protected Area.

"I think what is key in that is it shows that prosperity and conservation can go hand in hand," she said, while explaining that the work was done in partnership with 21 coastal communities. The protected area spans 702 square kilometers (436 square miles).

"It's a great example for the entire world that this is not just possible, but it can benefit our environment and people at the same time," Irwin said.

There Was Something Noticeably Different About Prince William’s Body Language During His Recent Outing

The hardest part is mastering my aluminum foil moat trick, but provided you can fold foil, you can conquer this. (The key is using heavy-duty aluminum foil, which holds its shape well.)

How to Make an American Flag Grazing Board

• Serves: 8-10 (as an app); 3-4 (as a meal)
• Prep Time: 15 minutes
• Cook Time: 8 to 10 minutes
• Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

• 1 bag blue corn tortilla chips
• 3 slices white cheddar cheese
• 6 hot dogs
• 6 split-top hot dog buns
• 1 quart strawberries
• 1 (12-ounce) container Buffalo chicken dip
• 1 (10-ounce) container white queso dip
• 1 (12-ounce) container pico de gallo or chunky salsa

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Divide the baking sheet into three zones: The upper third of the pan will be (1) a top left square area for holding the blue corn tortilla chips and cheese stars, which you’ll add last; (2) a top right aluminum foil “moat” for holding dips; and the bottom two-thirds of the pan will be for zone (3), where you create stripes of hot dogs and strawberries.

2. Create the aluminum foil moat: Trim a piece of aluminum foil so it’s as wide as the top right section of the tray and as long as the tray itself. Press the foil so it curls around the edge of the top edge of the baking sheet. Then, about an inch to an inch and a half down, crinkle up the foil, making a little wall. Repeat one more time, and do the same along the left edge of the foil. You can also fold a strip of aluminum foil and place it along the left-hand side and bottom edge of the “moat” to give it further support.

3. Cut out about 5 or so cheese stars. Set aside.

4. Boil or grill the hot dogs until they’ve plumped up and are dark pinkish-tan (about 5 to 6 minutes for boiling; 1 to 2 minutes per side when grilling). Place in buns and cut in half or thirds for a more snackable appetizer.

5. Warm the white queso according to the package’s instructions.

6. Assemble the board, starting at the bottom: Create a row of hot dogs, then a row of (washed and dried) strawberries—or red grapes, apple slices or raspberries!—then another row of hot dogs. Pour blue tortilla chips into the top left zone, topping with cheese stars. (You can set aside the remaining chips in a bowl to serve nearby.) In the aluminum foil moat, add Buffalo chicken dip in the bottom row, white queso in the middle and salsa to the top row. Serve.

There are no rules here. I used pico de gallo, but any chunky salsa is great here, since it’s less runny, but you could also heat up a can of Trader Joe’s turkey chili with beans and make it more of a chili cheese dog bar. Or swap the Buffalo chicken dip for pimiento cheese dip (which, yes, neither is really “red” but we’re taking a few liberties here in the name of liberty, justice and great snacks for all).

Not into queso? The tzatziki dip is a refreshing option, as is the chicken uncured bacon ranch dip.

To that end, if you’re not feeling hot dogs—admittedly, you’re kind of ruining my theme here, but I’ll play your game—you could do rows of charcuterie instead: crackers, salami, white cheeses, prosciutto, go ham! Literally!
