Cheesy Alouette Toasts with Fig Jam and Fried Sage

We look for two things in an appetizer recipe. First, it should be so easy to make that we can commit it to memory. And second, it has to be perfect for snacking (we’re all about the finger foods). That’s exactly why we’re loving these cheesy Alouette toasts. Make them for yourself to see what all the fuss is about.

Makes 4 to 6 Servings

¼ cup olive oil

6 fresh sage leaves

6 French baguette slices (about 1 inch thick)

1 package of Alouette Garlic & Herbs Soft Spreadable Cheese

¼ cup fig jam

Prep Time: 15 Min

Cook Time: 5 Min

Total Time: 20 Min

 1. In a medium skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sage leaves and fry, flipping once, until crispy but not browned, about 1 minute per side.

2. Brush the baguette slices with the sage-infused olive oil and grill lightly on both sides, about two minutes per side.

3. Spread about 1 tablespoon Alouette Garlic & Herbs Soft Spreadable Cheese onto each baguette slice.

4. Top with 2 teaspoons fig jam and a piece of fried sage.
