We laugh when people say low-calorie and cocktail in the same sentence. But Pakpao, a Thai restaurant in Dallas, created a number of low-calorie cocktails that don’t taste, well, low-cal. Top of our list is the Watermelon Slim, a 175-calorie drink perfect for cooling down on hot days. (Tip: Put the watermelon chunks in the freezer for an hour to make an extra-icy version.)

1 cocktail

½ slice watermelon, cut into 4 chunks

1½ ounces Tito’s Handmade Vodka

1 ounce sugar-free cranberry juice

½ ounce lime juice

Lime wedge, for garnish

Mint sprig, for garnish

1. Place the watermelon chunks in a cocktail shaker. Press lightly with a muddler to release some of the juice

2. Add the vodka, cranberry juice and lime juice to the shaker. Fill the shaker with ice, then shake for 30 seconds. 

3. Pour the cocktail into a Collins glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wedge and mint sprig.
