Lorine Chia

The Self-Taught Songstress on the Rise

It’s simple, really. Lorine Chia loves music, so she made it her career. The 25-year-old Cameroonian native first came on the radar when she was featured in SoundCloud’s first-ever creator campaign, First On SoundCloud, celebrating the artists who started on the platform and are now rising to fame. Since then, Chia has proven her undeniable talent, shaped by her upbringing and musical influences, garnering praise from the likes of Complex, Fader and Billboard, while Pitchfork describes her as “plucked straight from a different era, but...ultra-contemporary.” She’s now working on her hotly anticipated album Sweet Noise.
